Camping Côté Ô La Palmyre

Step out of the park and it’ll not take you long to stroll to more activities. Treetop clambering at Indian Forest, muddy off-road buggy drives and illuminated night-time rides at Luna Park are all within a 10-minute amble. If you want to roam a little further, hire bikes on site and pick a path: there are dedicated bike routes directly outside the site, along the Côte Sauvage to beaches, forests and lighthouses, or into La Palmyre for visits to its excellent zoo or the Youpiland kids’ fun park. The resort’s got a splendid beach too, and plenty of watersports including paddleboarding, windsurfing, and lessons for budding surf dudes and dudettes. Want to see more of the coast? Take the half-hour drive to the busy harbour and market of Royan (a fab place for foodie foraging), or to the island of Oléron for beaches and bike rides with a side order of fresh local oysters.
