Le Mas de Thau

A dose of sea air for you, monsieur or madame? It’s a 15-minute drive down to Mèze, where you can wander around the harbour and oyster beds on the Étang de Thau, or half an hour to Cap d’Agde for a round of golf (with potentially distracting sea views). For beaches, it’s a half-hour drive to Sète, where the 12-kilometre sandy stretch has plenty of space for quiet sunbathing sessions as well as launch spots for watersports including kayaking, flyboarding and jetskiing. Also within a half-hour drive are the Bessilles tree-climbing park, the riverside Pédalorail trail, the Mèze Dinosaur Museum and several of the Languedoc vineyards (note to samplers: the picpoul de pinet is particularly pleasing around these parts).
