Oak Tree Farm Glamping

Tyckte om We have just returned from a wonderful few days at Oak Tree Farm. Cliff and his family are so friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. His daughter Ellie needs a special shout out for her amazing work ethic dropping our wood off, and great story telling! This is on the wilder side of glamping - but if you’re looking for a few days escape in an idyllic setting, then this is the place!

Tyckte om Beautiful setting. Hosts were lovely and welcoming, helping to carry bags to the bell tent which was a short walk over a pretty stream from the car park. On site we had a spacious bell tent, comfortable beds, already made up on arrival and camping kitchen equipment including plates, cutlery etc under a gazebo. The Location is great for an away from it all/outdoorsy holiday. You need to travel further for other types of attractions. We used the hot tub every evening and toasted marshmallows on the firepit. Firewood and ice packs for the toolbox were supplied daily. They also have 4 very friendly sheep, which we enjoyed petting while we were there!

Tyckte inte om The toilet and shower facility was fine, but basic and functional. The owner said they would be replaced for next year. It is steep access from the entrance to the car park. You may have difficulty if your car is low to the ground.

Tyckte om Pleasant valley location, pretty wild flowers and babbling stream running through the site. Great space between the pitches and lovely to be able to bring our dog on site.

Tyckte inte om I hate to give a negative review, I realise how hard things are, but I have to be honest. I was really disappointed with the glamping set up, everything looked tired and worn out and given the cost of £150 per night (including hot tub) it really wasn’t good enough. The shower and toilet facilities were also not really up to scratch, no washing basin to wash hands in after using the toilet.

A little more care and thought with the facilities could have made the experience seem like good value for money, but I’m afraid that as it was we cannot recommend it.

Lugging our gear down from the car park to the tent was also a pain, would have made a big difference to have a trolley or something similar to help carry our things to and from the car.

I think your disappointment with the glamping set up is due to your selection of the glamping site. We are not a site where you can drive right up to the tent or pod, walk down to a concrete path on to a raised decking into the pod.
We keep the cars in the Car Park, one for safety reason and secondly we don't want someone revving their car up at 2am next to your tent. No!!

So there is a short walk to get to your tent, across the wooden bridge and lovely stream into a woodland clearing, with a huge oak tree. This whole area is yours to enjoy with no adjacent tents!! Don't forget the Canadian Spa Jacuzzi, fire pit in the evening (free firewood every night!) Comfortable double bed, two single futon beds, electricity into the tent and your own field kitchen, quite reasonable for £149 per night.

OK - the toilet and shower wooden building is tired, they will be replaced this winter ready for next year. The actual toilet & shower are kept clean and work very well. The toilet is a composting toilet but is an 'actual' proper toilet from a yacht!! The gas powered shower provides plentiful hot water.

With regard to the 3 mins walk from the tent to the car park my wife and 10 year old daughter helped carry your bags! The trolley is a nice idea but in reality doesn't work, more likely to tip over.
We actually provide a wheel barrow for you to use!! but you ignored it.

Anyway I always urge people to do the proper research - if you are after an immaculate set up, concrete paths, loads of decking we are not your site. If you wanted a peaceful, natural site, set amougst a back drop of woods, stream and amazing views with a great tent set up on grass!! - we are here. Well worth checking other people's reviews as to there opinions!! Yes next year will have a sparkling new toilet & shower block!!

Tyckte om Location - we stayed in the secluded deluxe tent. This was halfway down the hill from the top of the road, and the Location was perfect 👌
The hosts were so welcoming, warm and friendly.
What a lovely place you have.
My 2 boys loved the hot tub 😍

Tyckte om Cliff and family were wonderful hosts. The bell tent kept us warm and dry even when the rain was torrential. Hot tub was fab as was the fire pit and the wood was kindly provided free by the owners. Can't wait to come back :)

Tyckte om The site was quiet and very serene. Cliff was a very attentive host, making sure we had fire wood and ice packs for the cooler. The hot tub was amazing, just what we needed on a special anniversary break ☺️ and our two young sons especially enjoyed the proximity to the small (but shallow) stream - I felt very safe with them playing in and around it. Little Willow the puppy was a lovely little thing, and again, my children loved seeing her and the chickens and pigs. The tent was spacious and had everything that we needed and it's proximity to Llandeilo made popping out for breakfast easy.
