Do not turn into that road as we are 400 metres away, directly off the A495 (please see below). If approaching from Llanfair Caereinion (past the Texaco petrol station & Londis on your right) Head West on New Road (A458) for 1.5 miles. Turn Right onto the A495, signposted Meifod. Continue for 0.3 miles (passing Dolgead Hall on your left) and Oak Hill Escape at Ty Llwyd will be found on the right, next to the stone chapel. If approaching from the coast (from the West) follow the signs for Welshpool on the A458. After passing through Llanerfyl (watch as the bridge narrows through here), continue for 3.5 miles and just after passing Neuadd Bridge Caravan Park turn left onto the A495, signposted Meifod. Continue for 0.3 miles (passing Dolgead Hall on your left) and Oak Hill Escape at Ty Llwyd will be found on the right, next to the stone chapel. If approaching from Oswestry direction, turn off the A483 onto the A495 at Llynclys crossroads. Continue on the A495 passing through Porth-Y-Waen for 2 miles and then turn left to stay on the A495 signposted Llansaintffraid, Llanfyllin & Machynleth. Continue on the A495 for 14.8 miles passing through Llansaintffraid, Meifod, past Fir View (Tan Y Ffrith) Caravan Park (we’re 4 minutes drive from here). Oak Hill Escape at Ty Llwyd will be found on the left, next to the stone chapel. If you pass Dolgead Hall (on your right) or get to the sharp left bend, you’ve gone too far! Car Parking Parking is just through the wooden gate at Ty Llwyd and there is plenty of space to turn even a large vehicle around. It is approximately a 4 minute walk along the track and then uphill. The first thing you’ll see are the views and Oak Lodge roof peeking out at you. There is a bench at the top of the track where you can sit down and take in the views if you wish.
