Three Hares Campsite

Tyckte om Small site, access to a fridge, freezer and kettle was awesome. Rental of firepit and wood was great. Showers and toilets were clean. Owner kindly helped us out by doing an emergency load of laundry. Kids rope swings and hammocks were lovely and much loved by our 2 kids.

Tyckte inte om The smell coming from the chemical disposal waste was very very strong- seemed to be an open cavity with no plug or even a door? Its central location meant that we had to walk past it a lot. Every little puff of wind carried the smell down to us at our pitch, and it was incredibly off putting. To be honest this alone ruined our stay.
Despite guidelines saying to arrive between 2pm and 8pm, there were many late arrivals, with people setting up late (9.30- 10pm car running, noisy pump to inflate airbeds etc) and cars coming after 11pm.
Issues with other site users smoking weed, which I reported to owners, but it happened again the next night. On last night my husband had to abandon brushing his teeth to let another camper vomit. Presumably linked to a empty bottle of tequila we saw in recycling the next morning.
Road noise was noticeable, and showers were way too hot and non adjustable.

It was really lovely to meet you and your family and I am sorry that there were things that fell short of your expectations. We try to have very clear rules about campers arrival times and behaviour on site. We are usually a very quiet, family orientated campsite and our other reviews reflect the safe and friendly environment. It is unfortunate that a minority of campers did not act in an inclusive and considerate way during your stay. It is very unusual for our campsite. I will make sure that we address any smell coming from the sewage treatment plant. I totally understand that this would have effected your enjoyment of the campsite. We will also adjust the thermostat on the showers which are at a factory setting. As you know we live here and are available to help out campers and can usually fix things quickly when alerted to them. I really appreciate your comments and hope you had a good journey home. Tyckte om This was a perfect find for myself and 2 boys, 6 and 9.
The campsite has enough to entertain the boys with tree swings, hammocks, go kart and space to explore, but small enough for me to not worry and always know where they were.
Showers were always hot and available. The showers and toilets were clean and stocked up always.
There is a kettle in reception, fridge and freezer

Tyckte om I liked the fact it was a no dog policy, I liked the fact it was small, I liked the fact the owners are chilled and accommodating, I liked we could have firepits and were left alone to chill.
The pitch sizes are a nice size.
The drinking water tasted clean and pure.
Not to expensive.
Hammocks.. but maybe put in a couple more.

Tyckte inte om I didnt like that the showers were Scalding hot, that you couldn't stand under but they are going to be dealt with apparently.
There isnt anything for teenagers to do at all.
Needs to have a little shop onsite for basics.

Tyckte om Lovely clean, light, well designed toilet and shower block. Nice length of grass - not too long or short! Lovely stream and good play area for kids. Friendly owners. Very reasonably priced.

Tyckte om We stayed here for 6 nights and had the most lovely time. It’s a quiet, chilled campsite with a lovely vibe..relaxed and natural. Our little one who’s 3 could explore and play…on the swings, hammocks ands little play area.It’s nestled in a beautiful feeling piece of land a lovely setting in amongst the trees and the little stream, campfires at night..just loved it. Chinnie and Henry were really lovely and helpful when i had questions. There’s a great check-in/reception room with a fridge, kettle, charging point…and books as well. and kids books. We would absolutely come back here again.
