Понравилось Called the number for the site on arrival and received a very warm welcome. We were shown to our allocated pitch. The facilities were pointed out and we were given a useful guide to the area. Very quiet and peaceful site. Slightly larger than normal pitch size Proximity to wonderful walks particularly along the canal Close enough to walk into Barnoldswick which has a great selection of bars, pubs, restaurants and take aways along with a couple of supermarkets and a selection of independent shops

Не понравилось If the site were ever to be full I would imagine one ladies, one gents toilet and only one shower could become a problem. Also given the nightly rate seems odd to charge for the shower separately. However again this didn’t make much difference to us as I factored the cost in and while my husband used the shower I decided to use the on board caravan shower One thing which did cause a flight issue was the directions/warning about coming up the lane to the site which does have some signs (I didn’t see them as we drove in) all you need to note is come into the lane via the town centre and head towards the football ground. Then go past the ground on your right and you will be fine. It’s a very short distance and not overly busy

Понравилось The security is great with a number activated barrier just off the road. This is the start of the longest access we’ve come across in many years of camping and caravans The initial information provided was great we had the access code and our pitch number but we were still met by Kate who was so helpful and very welcoming. The pitches are all flat and spacious and we had our own water supply Four shower cubicles which also had a toilet and sink plus a more spacious easy access one for women and the same for men A nice laundry room which also had lots of useful information provided. Proximity to the York stadium and the city of York

Не понравилось The showers were basic and looked to have been in for a number of years so perhaps need an upgrade If every pitch had been occupied I doubt we would gave been able to use the facilities Also quite noisy from the nearby road and several late arrivals and early leavers No shop within walking distance (nearest we found was Asda at Monks Cross approximately 40 mins walk but quick if you rrove

Понравилось Good sized flat pitches, good communication prior to arrival with pitch number details on a board outside reception. Clean toilet and shower block Well stocked shop

Не понравилось The showers are small meaning clothes etc got wet when you used them Confusing entrance and if you go out on foot and return in the dark it quite difficult to negotiate your way back to your pitch

Понравилось The location and views out to sea. 30 mins walk to Withensea and 15 mins to a medium sized Tesco store (Aldi in Withensea. Lovely warm welcome from the owner, very helpful and accommodating Lovely walk via in the main the coastal path into Withensea Lots of space for children to run and play Fridge/freezer for the use of campers Windbreakers and fire pits can be hired from reception in an honestly based pay per night, also eggs and firewood in sake

Не понравилось The pitches went clearly marked out, we’d booked EU hookup for a caravan and awning and the space allocated barely had enough room for the caravan and awning and definitely no room for the car However when speaking to the owner it wasn’t a problem we’d spilt over our allotted area. Also lots of extension leads running across pitches to allow max use of the hook up points. However this looked dangerous to me especially as the site isn’t lit up at night The shower in the disabled bathroom sloops away for the plug meaning it floods, a large squeegee is provided but wouldn’t imagine anyone elderly or with a disability would struggle to get all the water cleared Would have liked a mop and bucket in all the showers as the did get grubby on the run up to cleaning

Понравилось Our plot was very spacious with sun all day, we were in the paddock which we really liked. The nicest shower block, clean, warm and more than enough showers for how the site was occupied. Great location with good walks and close enough to public transport Friendly and helpful welcome with a small shop with enough to put you on until you can get to a supermarket

Понравилось Nicely laid out site Good sized flat pitch Good Wi-Fi Helpful staff Nice book and dvd swap shop Bus stop close by Nice extras provided in the showers (complimentary shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, tissues and cotton wool)

Не понравилось No shop close by for essentials Showers didn’t feel clean the squeegee provided didn’t clear the water away I couldn’t shower without getting my hair wet Road noise

Не понравилось Showers situated close the he static caravans rather than tourers, showers ok not the worst I’ve come across but not the best. Opening hours for the shop given that there is no shop near by would have liked it to have been open in the afternoon but understand out of the main season this might not be possible

Понравилось Warm friendly welcome Peace and quiet For us a good location as we were able to visit friends in Newark and walk Clean facilities Spacious pitch Good walk taking us around 30 mins to one pub then around the same again to another, we could another was reasonably close by but stuck to the two for this visit

Не понравилось From our pitch at the far side of the adult only field quite a walk to the facilities Didn’t really need to pay for additional electric as firstly the meter had credit on it and secondly didn’t really use much more than the £1 credit you get automatically

Понравилось Lots to like, friendly helpful welcome on arrival. Quiet and peaceful site, ideally situated fir some great walks. The pitches were of a good size and all level with a good mix of static, tourers and tents. A small play area for children and no massive set of rules to follow.

Не понравилось No washing up facilities, small shower/toilet facilities. Poor WiFi/phone signal which was fine for me as wanted to get away from all that. It’s us also a drive to get to the nearest shop

Понравилось Location was great allowing us to get to all the places we wanted to get to on our first visit to the Peak District. Also an easy walk to a great pub with good food. Slightly longer walk to Hartington but definitely worth a visit or two with two good pubs serving food, a cafe and a couple of shops plus the cheese shop The shower/toilet block spotlessly clean, under flour heating a lovely touch. Seen others complain that there wasn’t enough but we had no issues throughout our stay. The addition of the kitchen room will helpful for those in a tent plus the fire pits were very popular.

Понравилось Relaxed atmosphere Good sized pitch Nice being attached to a pub Shop very close by Bus stop at the entrance to the site Reasonable facilities The staff were helpful without being in your face Food was good in the restaurant (basic pub grub but a good change from cooking for yourself)
