Понравилось Spacious pitches, good facilities (toilets, showers, wash area etc), clean, well managed site.

Не понравилось The only downside really was no sort of play area for kids. We knew that prior to booking though so it wasn’t a disappointment. Oh, and one of the chickens seemed to like our kitchen and dome shelter area which was fine until it started sh***ing all over the place. We ended up having to barricade it out. The kids loved it though! Mobile phone reception was very poor to non-existent.

Понравилось Small site with a relaxed atmosphere, kids enjoyed the games room, communal areas nice and clean and well stocked with soap, toilet roll, and hand towels. Kitchen area always had tea and sugar, kettle provided, freezers for ice packs. There is also a couple of nice walks close by. Having no set departure time was a real blessing. Packing up to be off site by midday for example, with three large tents, small children, disabled adult, and inclement weather would have been a struggle.

Не понравилось As with other reviews the road noise from the A48 is a bit of a nuisance in the early morning. It wasn’t a surprise as we’d read reviews prior to booking so it wasn’t something unexpected and once up and awake you don’t really notice it as much, but if you like nice peaceful mornings then this isn’t for you. Disabled shower room, although quite new, we found it difficult to keep pressing the push button to operate the shower. The button was really hard to push, and it had to be pushed approximately every 10-15 seconds for water to be supplied to the shower. From an energy/water saving point of view I completely understand having the showers operate this way in the female and male facilities but making it easier to push, and extending the time the water runs would certainly be appreciated by disabled people.

От менеджера: Hi, Thank you for your review. The family room was only opened that weekend and you were one of the first to use it. We had already noted that the button is hard to push and will try and solve this, along with the duration of the supply once pushed. It is really good to have feed back from you though. We have also now got a baby change mat for use, if needed.

Понравилось We were part of a multiple booking for a family get-together. Allocated space in the Cider Mill Field, a slightly sloped field with a pitch size that was plenty big enough and relatively safe for the younger kids (a large hedgerow separated us from the field that had the lake and the play area in). Although the lake is fed from a natural source the colour of the water is not that appealing. It’s a clay pit and due to the amount of activity stirring up the sediment the water is a brown colour. It didn’t put us off though. There were families picnicking in the field while watching their kids launch themselves off the jetty into the water, a couple with paddle boards, and some kayaks. There’s only a small play area which has two slides, a climbing wall, and a bridge. Showers, toilets, wash-up areas all clean, and regularly cleaned by the looks of it. A couple of communal fridges & freezers to store any stuff you may have that needs it. A very small shop in reception sells a few bits but Tesco’s and Aldi are only 5-10 minute drive away. There’s a few other ponds in a small wooded area, and a nice lake by a conservation area on the side of the site where the lodges are.

Не понравилось The quiet time hours are from 10:30pm to 8am and they are rigorous in their control. As a large family we would gather around the traditional fire pit after a late evening meal (as similarly other large groups in the field did) for a catch-up, chin wag, stories, jokes etc. Don’t even think about laughing out loud after 10:30pm as the noise police will be around. Numerous families on the site were paid a visit on the Saturday night, kills the mood completely. Please note though, this is not a complaint, just a dislike. For some people this is obviously ideal. We were all aware of the terms and conditions when we booked and other places we have been to have also had similar rules (but not exercised as stringently).

От менеджера: We are so sorry that you had this experience, we were away from the site that weekend, and our new staff on duty were just learning when and what is too loud! We are happy with quiet chatty, sitting around the camp fire, but are strict about no music after 10.30 as it encourages people to talk louder. If we ever feel people are being a little bit too noisy we recommend splitting into smaller groups so people dont shout across to each other so much. Sorry again that this was your experience, we felt the need to comment as I dont want people booking our site because they think it will be absolutely silent after 10.30, although often it is, i think lots of people are worn out by the swimming and playing in the lake , ha ha !!! We try to find a happy medium. We do hope you can visit us again in the future. Many thanks Emma and Helen
