On arrival at The Willows we were greeted by Mark, he seemed very pleasant. We were told we were on Pitch 9. Although the grass was a little unkept, we had a lovely pitch opposite a Willow Tree. The site was lovely, surrounded by trees and a chorus of birdsong could be heard at all times of day. The Site has easy access to the river and the lovely Lower Load Hotel/ Restaurant which is situated right on the river band. Although advertised on Pitch Up there is no ferry running and hasn’t been one for a number of years. The weather was glorious during our stay, so we decided not to do the 50minute walk into Tewkesbury.

The shower/toilet block could do with a bit of attention, although plenty of nice hot running water, the decor as definitely seen better day. The showers however were cleaned at least a couple of times a day.

Lovely location with beautiful views. Lovely pub next door.

The discription of the site on pitchup. Totally misleading.
Campsite needs total refurbishment. Shower block disgusting. Out dated and had never been cleaned. Pitches were very unkempt. And still charging £35 per night for the privilege. Also ferry not running. It hasn’t for a few years. Which is one of the main reasons for booking for accessibility to Tewksbury.

As above. The toilets and shower block are probably the most disgusting I have ever used. The facilities are not even fit for an animal!

very picturesque, the Lower Lode pub at the front of the site was lovely with good ales and food . The outside garden on the front was lovely with great views over the river severn. electric hook up and water on every pitch was excellent and good hot water for washing up and toilets.

Nothing at all, I have stayed in better wild camping sites for free. Shame on the owners for charging £35.

It is scruffy, unkept, poor shower (only two) facilities. Very basic - almost medieval!

Great location very helpful staff great walks. We’ve stayed there 3 times and will go again.

The Site is behind the Lower Lode Inn (was misleading when I first read details/other comments as thought it was other side of the river - so was a pleasant surprise)!
The outlook from the pub is stunning.
The Site itself is as pictures, with willow trees and good sized pitches. We enjoyed ourselves!

Not all pitch side taps worked, so one of campers families had to use ours (not a problem obvs, but unfair for them)
We knew from the reviews that the Toilet/Shower block wasn’t going to be great, however, it was a lot worse than expected… mainly as there was no soap in the dispensers for the entire weekend, and cold Water taps didn’t work in any of the sinks. Cleaning teeth with warm water not nice!!
Basic things that could and should be fixed! Was happy to put up with tired and old etc but that was bit crap tbh..
We don’t normally care about shower / toilet facilities, not really that fussy, however, the fact that it was £42 a night was a tad overpriced in our opinion!
