The view over the reservoirs was pretty, that is the only thing going for this site. For tourers though you cannot see the view, only for the statics.

They dumped us on a pitch laughably called Extra Large ... Only 4m wide, but 10m long never get an awning up. Looks like it had just been produced, the edging paving slabs were that high, no way you could get a caravan over them without a motormover. The access road was that narrow if there had been anyone on the pitches either side we would have really struggled to get on the pitch at all. Charged us £45 for one night plus £3 for the dog, very poor value for money.

It was peaceful

The receptionist is more concerned about telling you they don't run the pool than welcoming you to site.
I was briefly shown where my pitch was, well more like a gravel car park with a few electric boxes, wasn't shown where anything else was.
I was literally the only one there, I kept thinking...others will turn up... no one did, I like peaceful but this is ridiculous.

Going down to the pool I followed the receptionist direction to find the door is locked and no I can't pay in cash. Eventually got In to the pool area, this is £6 a session and for the most part i had the whole pool to myself until a woman brought her child for a swimming lesson....finally some people, never saw them again and the pool was locked for the next 2 days when I tried to visit... even though it says open 8am till 8pm on the leaflet I was given.

I found opening times on their website to be wrong for pretty much everything and the shop is more like a cafe that sells a few bits you might need...deffo not a full shop.

The only member of staff that was polite friendly and helpful was the guy behind the bar.
No menus given if you want food they will just tell you what they have and serve it to you in a take away tray with wooden cutlery.

Facilities were very basic but at least they were clean.

I think I would have to be desperate to return to this awful site

We are a mixed family of three older boys and a toddler. We really liked the soft play area for our younger one to play in while we relaxed. The kids entertainment was a nice touch for a small campsite. We didn’t try the pool but it looked really nice and will definitely be going there on our next visit. The view from the bar area is absolutely stunning and the site and shower/ toilet facilities are impressively clean.

Barely any food options available unless you leave the site. The touring pitches were gravel and there was just a long stretch of pavement for the kids to play on and also a large drop on one side which would of been dangerous for us to let our younger child have a run around. We definitely would prefer a grass pitch or at least a grass area for the kids to play on while we relaxed outside our caravan.

Pitches small and uneven no grass seemed unfinished.
Queing to get in as other holiday makers struggling to get into there small spaces with tourers caused a back up.

The courteous Staff in reception and bar were fantastic and lovely.
Washrooms, showers extremely clean.

Unfortunately the locations of the pitches were a real let down.
We thought we was booking a pitch with a view, unfortunately all we got was a view of trees.
There are no views from the lower or middle level pitches, only from top level.
The area of the pitches could do with some TLC and a tidy up.
Litter and cigarette butt's and bottle tops strewn across the gravel is not very welcoming.
Disappointed not to have a nice view from the van, have to walk down to the bar area and sit there to enjoy a nice view.

Pitches, staff, value for money, website lies. Tells you pool is included but tried to charge me £35 for an hour. We were put on the wrong pitch initially. Motorhome didn’t fit. Took them 35 minutes to come and give me the correct one. Once we were sited the electric was on a card meter, this then took them 45 minutes to come and switch on. So after arriving at 5:45pm it was nearly 7:45pm before we were set up.

Very friendly staff.. Nothing is to much trouble.
The bar area is very clean and modern.
The site as a whole is clean and tidy.
Views from the bar area are amazing over the countryside and reservoirs.. nice little bonus of the cows coming up to the fence line in the evening. Our 2 boys enjoyed feeding them grass.
The arcade looked like there was plenty of machines although we did not use this facility.

The pool is expensive to use. It's not free as advertised on pitch up.
It cost £20 for 2 adults and 2 children.
The play area is borderline dangerous. It's very old and tired.
There isn't a proper menu for eating out. This campsite would really benefit from that I feel.
We stayed on pitch 26. Our caravan had to be pitched lengh ways across the pitch as it would not fit m the usual way even though I rang to check before booking.
The pitches on this row and the bottom row were very cramped.
Because we was pitched lengh ways we had trouble turning around as the rows are dead ends with no turning point at the end.
Toilets were very dirty on the 1st day but was cleaned the next morning.

Staff friendly.

My wife, myself and our two granddaughters went to the pool on the day of our arrival only to be told that the use of the pool was not included anymore as Beacon Fell View Caravan Park no longer controlled it. It would appear that they have leased it to a swimming tuition company. We were told that we had to pay to use it. Because we wanted to use it on each of the three days, we were told that we should buy a three day pass which cost us £50! We were not told this when we booked or when we arrived and there were no advisory signs regarding prices anywhere. Also, it still states on the Park website that the pool is free to use. There were many disappointed customers and some left early unable to afford the extra charge. Other parents/grandparents forked out the extra charges so as not to disappoint their kids. We feel truly "ripped off" and in spite of coming here many times, will certainly not be coming again. Add to this the fact that the toilets at the pool were not working just added insult to injury. Just to add that the toilet/shower block was filthy most times and obviously not cleaned often enough and drinks prices in the club were scandalous. No park wifi and own reception poor.
