Touring bikers now have no problem finding a place to pitch up!

Motorcyclists have traditionally had a hard time finding places they are welcome to pull up to in order to get a good night’s kip after a long journey on the road.

This was brought to the attention* of leading online camping and caravanning website www.pitchup.com which has as a result added a search facility for motorcycle-friendly accommodation.

There are currently more than 40 campsites around the UK and Ireland listed on www.pitchup.com as being motorcycle-friendly, where bikers have no need to worry about disturbing the peace.

Daniel Yates, Managing Director, Pitchup.com, says the depth of search on the site is its most unique feature, as there are multiple search options for holidaymakers to carefully select the campsite or holiday park that meets their needs best.

“When we first launched the website in July last year, we didn’t realise how hard it was for bikers to find a place to stay. As soon as this was brought to our attention by users we knew it would be useful, so we rapidly implemented a search function.”

To make the journey to the campsite even easier, Pitchup has also joined forces with TomTom so bikers can navigate quickly to motorcycle friendly campsites and holiday parks. 

The partnership gives riders the ability to download locations to their TomTom satellite navigation devices by clicking the "Add to TomTom" button** on the Pitchup.com website.
