One of the many appealing features of our site, is its location, and the peacefulness. 80% of our campers come to us just for these reasons, to get away from the hustle and bustle, they seek us out for this. At this time of year mid September, it is very quiet, we are on countdown to closing for the season end of September, as is most of this area, we seldom get more than a couple of campers on site at the same time so late in the season.

If you would like a bit more company, you could return a bit earlier in the year, when there are plenty more people on site.

We always get great comments about the shower, it is very good.

We are sorry we didn't deliver on customer services, you did go out, and we were not about when you came back, we are wondering what you were expecting?

The shower situation was not of our making, unfortunately, the boiler broke down and we were awaiting the plumber. However, as you say, you were the only ones on site, so you should't have had any issues with waiting long for the shower. Lets face it, most homes only have 1 bathroom to a 4 person household! Hardly fair to rate us on our facilities when there wasn't any issue.

As for the flies, what can I say, its nature, you came to a rural area, its muck spreading season.

Понравилось Nice little camp site , really clean facilities , beautiful scenery including a small river which flows under the road bridge with access in the far corner of the field down a steep path
Devils bridge 20 mins away , well worth a visit

Не понравилось Never once saw the owners !!!, we had one telephone conversation which we made when we arrived at 14:20 to find what pitch we were on & that was it !!!, no information given except the pitch number oh and we were told rather abruptly that we were early and should not have been there until 3pm !!! although on the web site it said check in from 2pm
Notes everywhere on site about one topic or another , so I suppose this could be the owner’s way of communication

От менеджера: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we are very pleased you thought our site nice, and with clean facilities. Its such a lovely location too with the river.

We are sorry we did not see you during your stay, we don’t always manage to see all our guests, (we are quite busy people) either they are not on site when we are, or we are not on site whey they are, however we are here most of the time cleaning, and tidying, but mostly leave our guests to themselves, but always happy to chat, but keep a low profile -there are lots of sites that you will never see the owner at all.

Pitchup does notify on the website of the times or arrival and departure to be from 3pm to 8pm this was changed on the 12th August. We sent out an email to all those who had booked prior to the change, which happened on the 12th August, and you were one of the bookings we sent an email to, informing you of the change of times, maybe in your junk. Our apologies if you thought us abrupt, I cannot comment on that, but there was a genuine personal reason for the times to change, sorry for the inconvenience this caused you, but you were notified. I will send you my email log.

Of course, there have to be notices on the site, and yes, it is communication and information for obvious reasons. Dog poo bin, Rubbish bins with recycling info on them, notice board with useful information – Dr’s Surgery, Nearest A&E, nearest petrol station, things like that. Sorry about the WiFi it doesn’t belong to us, but like you say phone coverage is good, so you didn’t need to pay for WiFi.

Не понравилось Arrive on site a party of 2 caravans myself and son 45 mins earlier than check in due to travelling a very long journey didn’t hit a much traffic we were expecting for the bank holiday weekend, I rang office as request by note on office door to be told very abruptly by female owner that we had to leave the site and go and wait in lay-by up the road,no directions given, then to come back as she was having her lunch, we came back pulled on site went to office, I found the female owner very rude pointed out where to go shouted at my son for driving down the site to get his caravan off the lane, we we not told anything about the site toilets showers fire points etc, we stayed for 5 nights on our last night the shower blocks were closed down so we only had access to one there were still a few people staying so queue for showers.

От менеджера: Thank you for your positive comments on the site itself, being clean and tidy, we pride ourselves on this as it is very important.
As for comments made about the showers, there is no way, that we would shut down the showers when there were several occupied pitches, or at any time with occupied pitches! The review suggest that we have numerous shower blocks, we have one building with one shower and 2 toilets – this was not closed! We have a horsebox conversion that sits beside the building, which is a shower and a toilet combined, this one was closed because the boiler stopped working, there was no hot water and we were waiting for the plumber to come out, we are sorry for the inconvenience this caused, but mechanical things do break down, so of course we closed it. Only having one shower is inconvenient, we apologise for that, but you were in a caravan and had your own facilities, far more convenient than the ones on site when one is out of order. You say there was a queue for the ‘showers’, only one shower working remember, the other out of order.
We are not alone as site owners having opening times, lots of sites will not let you on until after the arrival time. We suggested you park in the layby or at the picnic site down the road, because you could not park in the entrance to the site. We have hundreds of people staying at our site over the summer, that have also had long journeys, but 95% arrive at opening time of 3pm or later. We do have our reasons for our opening times. However, on occasions where it maybe 10 to the hour or 5 to the hour, we are flexible, but 45 mins or more, I am sorry, but it was not possible to allow early entry.
Our office is not open for arrivals, or at any other time as an’ office’, it is not necessary as we are so small, but the notice on the door and the gate does request anyone arriving to ring us on arrival. I was elsewhere at the time till 3pm.
As for me shouting at campers, this is not something I can be accused of, as for the lane, what lane? I am very puzzled by this!
Regarding an induction of on site facilities - it is not a big site, less than an acre, and everything is obvious with notices on various buildings and water taps, the fire extinguishers and fire bell are in the middle of the site in plain sight. We have stayed at many sites ourselves during our lives, and we have never been shown where anything is, it’s quite normal for campers, to walk around to find these things for themselves/ourselves, stretch the legs after a long journey.
Value for money, location, WiFi - You chose to book onto our site, maybe look into a sites details more before you book in future, (Google maps is a good one for location, and you can drag the Yellow Man onto street view), you will get an idea of the location and what you want that way.
Regarding WiFi. we do not own the WiFi it is outsourced and offers 900meg, and our mobile phone mast is 5G and gives excellent coverage.

Понравилось Super little site - quiet, fabulous location alongside the river Ystwyth - perfect for early morning swim. Facilities clean and well kept and decent sized pitches.
Host Jill was helpful and lovely to chat with.
Will definitely visit again when we’re not having torrential thunderstorms ⛈️

Понравилось Lovely, peaceful, spotless site surrounded by woodland and a river. Plenty of space and excellent facilities. Absolutely perfect, wish we could've stayed longer.

Понравилось We've spent almost a week at this fantastic site. The hosts were very welcoming and always available to assist. All facilities were very clean.

The area was very quiet and peaceful; the river was clean and perfect for swimming if you were brave enough to venture into the cold water.

It was impressive how the location was nestled in the middle of the forest, yet just 20 minutes away from the beach.

Great network connection. The site has wifi too, but we haven't used it.

So far, it is our favourite camping site, and we will definitely return.
