Gostou Lovely location and we will definitely return. Really easy to walk into Barnoldswick, the site was quiet and clean. We didn't use the shower whilst there because you need a £1 coin and we both forgot to bring money but I popped my head in and it looked nice and clean.

Gostou Brilliant from start to finish. The pitches are tiered so everywhere has a lovely view, plus they're nice and level. The toilets and showers are clean and spacious. The washing up area is nice too. The shop/reception on site has all the basics you need and electric hook up is a nice bonus. There are lovely walks straight from site. We will definitely be booking again in the summer.

Gostou Lovely site, the optional electric hookup is a nice bonus and the showers/toilets were so clean. The only minor complaint is that the shower only seemed to run warm for a few seconds at a time, but I might have just timed it wrong so maybe there wasn't much hot water.

Gostou Everything! Most importantly, the showers and toilets. They were so clean and there's plenty of them. The shower block in particular has 5 or 6 (I forgot to count) individual showers. They're spacious and have hooks on the wall so you can hang everything up and they're far enough away from the shower to not get wet. We stayed on a grass pitch in a van. There are about 4 different fields to choose from so it was so easy to find a spot that we liked. There was a pizza van and another food/drink/ice van that were open on the Friday night, as well as a bar van that was open on the Saturday night. It was nice to be able to buy some hot food on site. There's also a shop onsite that has the basics as well as some snacks which is a lovely touch. We weren't able to do much walking while we were there because it was too hot for the dog, but it looks like there are a lot of nice walks straight from the campsite, as well as others nearby. We had a short drive to Youlgreave and had a swim/paddle in the water to cool off. We will definitely be booking again 🙂

Gostou Everything! The showers and toilets are so clean and lovely. The view from the campsite is so nice too. The pitches have a clearly marked astroturf area for your tent so that you're not sleeping on rocks or on a slant. It's so well organised and the firepits are a nice touch. You're close enough to both Cockermouth and Keswick to be able to enjoy everything both towns have to offer and there are so many amazing walks to do. We will definitely be staying here again 🙂

Do gestor: Thanks for the great review and 10/10 rating. For the end of the season, you seem to have got some great weather, and with the changing colours in the Lake District, it's a great time of the year to come. Hope to see you next year.

Gostou I read a few bad reviews of this place so I was a little dubious about going initially, but we had a lovely time there. All of the bad reviews seem to be from people who are expecting a five-star experience from a basic campsite. If that's what you're after then buy an RV or book a hotel. The family owners are absolutely lovely, it's in such a good location for exploring the local area and the electric hook up was an extra nice bonus. There's only one male and female toilet and one shower. So yeah, very basic, but it's not really a problem. We were there for a full weekend, had a quick shower in the morning and we were never queueing (even though the campsite was pretty full.) There's also the toilets in the pub that you can use throughout the day so you only really need to use the campsite one at night. The food did take a while to come, but I think that's because it might be handmade by the lady who owns it and it's absolutely worth the wait. Everything we had to eat was so tasty; the samosas in particular were amazing. There's also a good-sized beer garden where you're welcome to take your own drinks. There are plenty of tables and quite a few wooden huts which were great for us as it was really sunny and it provided welcome shade for the dogs. In addition to this, the pub owns a small patch of private woodland that leads down to the river opposite; great for the dogs to have a paddle and cool off.

Gostou I cannot recommend this place enough. We stayed for three nights on an electric pitch and it was lovely. The toilet and shower facilities were immaculate, and there were also enough so that you weren't queueing or waiting to use them. The location is just a 5 min drive in to Fort William and also really close to the Ben Nevis gondolas. The staff at reception were really friendly too and there was a nice little pebbled beach area behind that looked out over a river and towards Ben Nevis. It was a lovely place to let the dog have a paddle and to enjoy the view. I will definitely be staying here again.
