Gostou Great to camp in the forest rather than the usual regimented sites. Having the ponies and wildlife on your doorstep was brilliant.
No electric made it more of an escape.
Toilet and shower block was immaculate full credit to the guys on site.
Will certainly come back

Gostou Lush staff, great location. Perfect setting. Beautiful wild animals. Great level pitching in woodlands then big open field which catches the sunrise and sun set. No set pitching can set up where you wish just keeping space from others.

Não gostou Only slight disadvantage is the toilet and shower space is small.
Although it gives a wild woodland setting maybe an outside/covered bar area would be nice with lights

Gostou Freedom to pitch up where you wanted to within reason … but see dislikes too…
The site was flat and facilities were good with people all taking responsibility to keep everything neat and tidy.
Sunday night was great with real peace and quiet!!
Good late check in system after reception had closed.

Não gostou Arrived about six on a Saturday evening and the whole site was very busy so very limited choice where to pitch ironically.

Gostou How detailed the ranger was when we arrived, as it was our first time at this site. The facilities were top notch.

Não gostou A group set up camp near us with multiple tents, they were quite noisy so we had to move. This isn’t the sites fault though as it’s explained at check in to keep space between camps.

Really loved the location, we pitched under the trees and it was beautiful.

Gostou Very welcoming campsite, in a lovely location. It was very easy to find, and the staff very friendly when we did arrive. Explained everything we needed to know about the campsite and as first time campers.

Loved the ability to just find a space in the site and pitch up. So at this time of year when they said they had 50 on site, and can take I think 450, meant plenty of space to find our own little area. Even with a section closed off due to being out of season and upgrades/maintenance taking place.

The showers/toilets/washing up block was kept lovely and clean. No problems at all with any of the facilities on site.

Another couple who came to say hello to our German Shepard while we were outside the wash block, said they’ve been here multiple times, which says everything you need to know about this site really.

The ground of our chosen area was a bit sandy, but that meant it drained really well, so with rain overnight on our first night, we woke up expecting puddles and mud, to find neither of those things.

The guy who checked us in, while doing his morning campsite checks, came over to check in on us and made sure we were alright as first timers.

Other than our kit failure, we had a lovely time. We only ended up staying the first night and most of the day while deciding what we were going to do for the 2nd night, but the wind and the rain of the first night wasn’t compatible with the tent we’d been given for free. We had managed to stay dry, but the damp had creeped through, and with more wind and rain forecast the 2nd night. We decided we didn’t want to put ourselves off camping again. So packed up that evening, but I’m positive we will be back, with a more waterproof tent, and better bedding.
