Step into the splendid Gloucestershire countryside and set up camp just two miles from the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds National Landscape. With Pebbly Barn Farm as your base, fab, far-reaching views are a given, as is a warm welcome into a peaceful retreat where well-behaved dogs are welcomed on leads and adventures in the Cotswolds are within easy reach… Once you’ve pitched up your tent in the roomy fields here, set off on the walking and cycling trails in the surrounding area (some of them begin very close by). You could make off to Moreton-in-Marsh's antique emporiums, tearooms, art galleries and delis, half an hour’s walk away, or time your visit right for the town’s Tuesday open-air market. With the Four Shire Stone on the outskirts of the town, another option is standing in the old meeting point of the four counties of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire (cool, huh?) There's also plenty of scope for tasty dinnertimes, with cafés, restaurants and pubs (including a couple rumoured to be past haunts of the author J.R.R. Tolkien) on the town high street and barbecues permitted on site (on a proper stand to protect the grass). The famed Diddly Squat Farm Shop is also 15 minutes' drive away. As for when the sun goes down, there are firepits for hire on site. The facilities here include toilets, showers and a handy dishwashing area, all close to the peaceful pitches. And though it may be rural, you won't be cut off here as Moreton-in-Marsh’s train station has routes to London and Cheltenham, and bus services go to many Cotswold towns and villages.

Gostou Amazing space. The facilities were spotless. We received a very warm welcome.

Não gostou There was an intermittent smell from the outside of the outdoor toilets.

Gostou Fabulous site with lovely surroundings. Lovely welcome, some of the best and super clean toilets and showers we have encountered on camping sites. Prices are very reasonable too. Chemical waste available along with fresh water. Approximately 35 mins walk into Moreton in the Marsh. Definitely go here again.

Gostou We were group of 5 last week, the area super big, I believe the largest pitch I have been, very clear and straight forward. We select area ourself. Kids have large space to play footie or run around.

Não gostou The grass was only cut half way of the pitch and that’s where most of the people staying at. That’s why I give 9 stars.

Kids was been told to return to tents around 10pm, they were very behaving to walk around the area as adventure experience. Maybe someone complaint, I am not sure.

I’m sorry the grass cutting wasn’t quite up to standard in the area where you were staying. We’ll certainly take that on board and make sure we keep a better eye on those areas.

With regards to the children being asked to return to the tents around 10pm, we do have quiet hours from 10pm to 9am. This is to make sure everyone on site can enjoy a peaceful night, so it wasn’t necessarily because anyone had complained. I’m glad they were enjoying exploring the site, but we do need to keep things quiet after 10pm.

Gostou Excellent Location, Easy to find. Very Clean Toilets and Showers. Walking distance to Moreton

Não gostou Would have been nice if there was a Pizza van or similar (especially on Saturday night) but we could order food to be delivered which was brought over to us when delivered to site early - which was nice.

Where can a 10-minute car ride get you? It turns out, a lot of places. There’s the dog-friendly plant centre and café at the 56-acre Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre (10 minutes’ drive), flying displays from falcons, eagles and other birds of prey at the Cotswold Falconry Centre (10 minutes) or the splendid 18th-century gardens at Bourton House Garden (10 minutes). Sezincote House (10 minutes) is another of those close-by spots and a rare authentic Mughal palace with a house and tea room – get there on foot if you wish by following the local Moreton Eight walk near the site. With the World Heritage Site of Blenheim Palace (half an hour) and the National Trust’s Chastleton House (10 minutes) close by too, there are many more options to have a nose around additional historic buildings. When you’re ready for some animal life, Cotswold Farm Park’s rare breeds, outdoor play and bouncy pillows (20 minutes) are likely to be a hit with the kids, or perhaps a peaceful picnic by the river Windrush in Bourton-on-the-Water (20 minutes) will do, with Birdland the prize attraction here.
