Gostou Excellent pitch, facilities, warm welcome, secure location. And the cherry on top, was the cost of staying, which was outstanding value. A big thank you West Down Touring and Camping Park

Gostou Location in Wiltshire was lovely, being close to the Westbury white horse and neighbouring towns, all again really nice. The field is easily accessible, with low levels of road noise. Nice field which is pretty level.

Não gostou Sadly this is an example of a non regulated campsite, I will now never go to a “Pop up site again” . The site has only two toilets and there were over 12 pitches with a large group of over 20 turn up. And then we had another group if 5 blikes turn up after 1.00am, which turned our nights camp into a nightmare. This was due to the group deciding to have a fire within 40 feet of our tent at 1.00am. We all don’t mind anyone having a good camping time, but when they’re drinking, talking, using a bong and talking at the top of there voice. This is when you see how a pop up site can ruin a holiday. Our safety was compromised due to the non regulated site, I say non regulated. But, basically the people who run the site, don’t bother to monitor and just take the money. Note: in the advert it states that: Quiet hours must be respected between 9:30 p.m. and 8 a.m lol, kids screaming and running around gone 11pm and a fire, (next to a hedge !!!!!!!) music and loud conversations past 2.00am.

Do gerente: Hi John, I do feel sorry that your stay with us wasn't what you planned, most people have a fantastic peaceful stay here. Unfortunately a late arrival next door to your camp with loud people turned into a distruped night. However, your review hasn't just said about your disruptive neighbours, you have gone out of your way to personally attacked us as campsite owners. Please look at our previous reviews and it will be clear to see we are a great site and we DO regulate the site, we DO care very much about every camper that comes through our gates. We do our best to help keep everyone happy, espically if there is any issues. I do not appreciate your judgement and saying we don't regulate the site and are only in it for the money. The amount of effort and spirit I've put into creating this business for someone to say that. Well. What a horrible thing to say. If you were unhappy with the campers next to you, you could have spoken to them and asked them to be quiet, as it was past midnight these issues accured. but instead you have taken to our reviews page and personally judged us for another person's behaviour?? If the camp fire was too much you could have spoken to the people and tell them how you feel if you didn't feel safe. And as for the toliet situation, it was a bank holiday weekend. We only had 3 bookings Friday morning and then by the afternoon bookings came flooding in and I had to cancel having any more bookings. I tried to hire another portaloo but being a bank holiday it was not possible. We were not being greedy or "just taking the money" . We tried our best with the situation. We kept the loos monitered and clean and stocked. And considering you are the only person out of the 30 people who were here complaining about it , i don't think it was an actually a problem. We are proud of our pop up campsite and will continue doing what we do. We have sadly gone from 9.4 /10 to a 9 /10 because of your review. Next time you go camping maybe consider all the facts before you put a bad review down.
