Thing is there’s loads of space here and we didn’t know that everyone chooses the riverside pitches. Choose carefully, not by the river, go to the other side of the fields if you want to be in peace.

What a waste / missed opportunity the Oast houses are. Beautiful buildings all run down, closed up and messy. It’s a major historic landmark but it’s a mess.
And as for the pub (Brewers Fare) - we went there at 9:15 on a Friday in July and it was “we’re closed and no dogs allowed”.
The whole place is lawless (too big?) but if you choose your pitch carefully, it’s good.
Thank you for choosing to stay with us on the 11th July, you were fortunate to move from the field where we had a group of disrespectful people staying. Had we been notified of music being played near you after our night checks we would have come out again, luckily enough you will stay here again.
The Shires Oast also in one of the Oast houses is open for food and drinks on a weekend and not too far to walk, they welcome well behaved dogs both inside and in their garden. Unfortunately the museums, farm and play park closed at the beginning of 2023.
