Aside from swish surrounds, the site has ace amenities including not one but four spacious swimming pools measuring 2,000 square metres altogether (with a few waterfalls and six slides chucked into the mix).
Aqua-based activities – think kayaking and snorkelling – are also to be had by borrowing equipment from the resort’s Beach Club, while kids’ entertainment, exercise classes and family activities (ranging from t’ai chi and Zumba to gymkhanas and karaoke) are all on hand to add to the amusement.
Not one for pre-planned pursuits? Head to the sports centre for a relaxed kickabout on one of three football pitches or to have a game on the tennis courts, ping-pong table and basketball court. And if you're worn out just reading this long list of facilities? Seeking out the spa for a massage or unwinding in the Jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath, Japanese garden and relaxation room might be more your bag.
Evenings are sorted at this site too as there are five bars, a nightclub and a range of organised entertainment including Polynesian-themed shows and flamenco performances. Grab dinner at one of the site’s two restaurants before settling in to watch the goings-on or, if you’d prefer to put your own food together, peruse the shelves at the park’s supermarket, fishmonger, patissier and wine cellar.

There’s a brilliant beach right by the site to lie down on with a page-turner, but if you’re seeking a change of scenery, crack on towards Cambrils (10 minutes' drive) for more sandy stretches to choose from. This seaside resort also has an oceanside promenade for scenic strolls and a handful of Michelin-starred restaurants to tantalise taste buds.
So that’s romantic respites with your other half sorted, but what if you’re travelling with the tiddlers? Well, the site’s also fab for families as it’s 20 minutes’ drive from PortAventura, one of Spain’s top theme parks.
But that's not to say there’s no culture to check out in the local area – gaze at Gaudí’s art in his birthplace of Reus (20 minutes), tour the UNESCO-registered city of Tarragona (25 minutes) or admire the Catalan modernist architecture in Barcelona (an hour and a half).
