Who's after a splendid Spanish seaside holiday – on a site with rather a lot of watery things to do too? Have it at Eurocamping in Girona, 300 metres from the curved couple of kilometres of the beach at Sant Antoni, and close to the famed Costa Brava resort and another couple of kilometres' worth of beach at Platja d'Aro. If you want to dive into watery things on site first, have a day or two on arrival investigating Eurocamping's watery options, including a large and handsome outdoor pool, a paddling pool, water toys for the tiddlers and Jacuzzi corners for the relaxers. Aqua gym as well as landish activities (live music, karaoke, kids' club and the like) are among the wide choice of activities and events run by the team here in July and August. The restaurant and bar are also open in high season and dish up a good variety of Catalan, Spanish and international options; a food shop is on site and barbecues are allowed if you'd rather sort your own stuff. No queues here either: the Eurocamping amenities include five modern toilet blocks, distributed niftily around the site.

On the AP-7 take Exit 7 signposted Gerona Sur. Follow signs to Sant Feliu de Guíxols / Palamós on the C-65 and C-31. Take Exit 321 signposted Sant Antoni de Calonge Oest and continue towards Sant Antoni de Calonge. When you reach the village, take the left at the first roundabout and left again at the second roundabout.

Eurocamping's nearest beach is the clean and award-winning one at Sant Antoni, a wide arc of a couple of kilometres attached to the seaside resort of Sant Antoni de Calonge: the promenade here is where you'll find most of the resort restaurants and nightlife after a hard day's sunbathing on the sands. The site is also close to the shops, bars, restaurants and watersports of the seaside resort of Platja d'Aro, part of the coastal town of Castell-Platja d'Aro made up of Platja d'Aro and the medieval village of Castell d'Aro (you'll see how it all works when you get there). You should also certainly have a look at Pals, the topping Gothic town set high up on a hill, and Palamos, the biggest fishing port in Girona and home to a fishing museum, splendidly busy harbour and windsurfing and swimming in its large bay. Ceramics connoisseurs will have a smashing time pottering around the Terracotta Museum and many shops of Spanish pottery capital La Bisbal d'Empordà. For a most relaxed day out, hop around or scuba dive from the seven small islands of the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park or wander around Costa Brava fishing villages like Calas de Palafrugell Calella and Llafranc i Tamariu; for a most unrelaxed and adrenalised day out, take the crew along to the waterslides and fast rivers of the huge Playa De Aro aquapark Aquadiver.
