The word Verbindingsboerderij in the name of this site mean’s ‘connection farm’ – and that’s a suitable title indeed, because Verbindingsboerderij de Koolberg aims to create a peaceful rural space where guests and locals can come together to connect with each other and connect with nature at the same time. This farm in the North Brabant countryside is gradually being developed into a place where children and adults with various special needs can gain hands-on experience with farm activities and hospitality work. The learning experience is expanded to guests as well, who will be able to stop by at the farm’s rapidly growing vineyard for wine tasting workshops. Coming to stay here isn’t all about supporting a social enterprise, however – the location on the edge of the village of Westerbeek also makes a great base for exploring the local area, perhaps taking walks in the Maasduinen National Park, visiting the watersports paradise Kraaijenbergse Plassen or seeking out the various historic sites around the Cuijk area, covering everything from the Romans up to World War II and beyond. In keeping with its sustainable ethos and focus on community and nature, the pitches at this small site are simple in style but with plenty of space for guests to set up their kit and relax in the open air. Toilets, showers and a washing-up area are provided, along with handy extras such as a wifi service and chemical disposal. Barbecues and campfires are permitted for cooking your meals; nearby Overloon (10 minutes’ drive) has shops for all the necessaries.

Gostou Everything about our stay from being greeted by the owners on our arrival to the facilities available. A small campsite nice and level ground. Nice clean toilet / shower block with lots of hot water. Bart and Anky were very happy to talk to us about what we could do in the local area during our stay.

There is a village 2 kms away with a few shops and cafes. Overloon is 5kms away, is a bit bigger, has a cracking war museum and shops, one being a great ice cream parlour. The locals are very friendly.

Gostou Absolutely perfect find. Everything at the campsite is thought through and organised, easy to use and access. The toilet and shower facilities are spotless and the water for showering was hot, there is free WiFi and a clean washing up area. We had a fire pit for our pitch which we used for a bbq and keeping warm in the evenings. Bart made sure we had everything we needed and checked in daily. He told us about local amenities and gave us interesting background on the site and how it’s being developed. The pitches were spacious and clean. I cannot recommend this site more and will definitely return in the future. Local shops were about 4k away and the walks away from the grounds to the locals villages were peaceful and pretty. Locals were very friendly and helpful. Great site and great host. Thank you Bart

Gostou Wir wurden sehr herzlich und deutschsprachig empfangen. Tatsächlich haben wir vor der Anreise schon eine private WhatsApp von Bart und Anky, den Besitzern, bekommen.
Eine ebene gemähte Wiese mit 10A Stromanschluss stand uns zur Verfügung. Für unsere Kleine gab es ein Fahrrad und ein Gokart zur Verfügung. Kleine Fußballtore und ein Ball waren auch da. Unsere Kleine war am liebsten am Zaun zur Pferdeweide und hat die Ponys gestreichelt. Eine zutrauliche Katze lief ebenfalls auf dem Platz herum. Die Sanitäranlagen waren sehr sauber und es gab genügend warmes Wasser. Einen Grill konnten wir uns auch ausleihen. Abends ging eine dezente Beleuchtung an. Am angrenzenden Zaun hing eine hübsche Lichterkette und bei den festen Zelten, welche man anmieten kann standen kleine Solarlaternen.

- nicht klar definiert, wo man seinen Müll am Ende lässt ( wir haben ihn bei den Sanitäranlagen in den Mülleimer gesteckt)
