Sailing sorts and budding boaties alike, cruise along to RCN Vakantiepark De Potten for days spent pottering around on and by the waters of the Sneekermeer, one of the Friesian lakes. Life at the park, 15 minutes’ drive from the city of Sneek, pretty much revolves around the water. Boat owners can moor their vessels in the harbour by the site, while newbies learn the basics or up their skills with lessons from the on-hand experts. Rowing and sailing boats, pedalos and canoes can be hired, and there are lots of little clearings for anglers too. There are plenty of other things to get up to, such as wandering over to the beach, where there’s a safe swimming area and plenty of sand and grass to sprawl out on for post-swim sunbathing. All sorts of dry-side activities exist here too: a multisports field and a beach volleyball court for team games, along with a tennis court, table tennis, table football and giant chess. Kids can aim for a hole in one at the miniature golf course, climb and slide at the playground or jump around on the trampolines. And that’s before they’ve even started perusing the extensive menu of activities in high season – face painting, crafts, circus skills and all sorts await. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with snacks and drinks available all day. There's also a site shop for barbecue bits, and a croissanterie with fresh supplies to tear into every day.

Gostou De locatie van de camping

Não gostou We kwamen aan op de camping, de plek was prima! Tegenover onze plek zat het sanitair gebouw, deze was oké maar zou wel vernieuwd mogen worden het was wat verouderd. Vervolgens wilde wij gaan midgetgolfen maar deze baan is zeer verouderd zitten overal gaten in de baan en is echt niet de moeite waard, daarna wilde wij een hapje gaan eten op de camping maar helaas was er binnen en buiten geen plek meer, dit kan natuurlijk want wij hadden niet gereserveerd, maar toen wij vroegen om ons eten dan mee te nemen zodat wij het konden afhalen zij een boze medewerker dat dit niet kon. Wij opzoek naar een alternatief dus dachten laten we naar de snackbar gaan op de camping maar wegens omstandigheden was deze ook gesloten, oftewel een camping die ligt aan een prima locatie maar de faciliteiten en voorzieningen zijn onder de maat, wij gaan jaarlijks meerdere keren naar RCN maar dit park zien ze ons niet meer terug

Gostou Ein schöner Campingplatz, großer Stellplatz, freundliche Mitarbeiter und sehr sauber. Das Restaurant am Platz sehr gut, sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter.

Não gostou Konnte nichts negatives finden. Es gab nichts zu beanstanden.

Toller Platz mit sauberen Anlagen, freundliches Personal. Top.

Gostou Ist eine sehr grosse Anlage, man merkt es aber gar nicht, weil es viele Abzweigungen gibt. Die Sanitär Einrichtungen sind top. Jeder hat einen separaten Stromzugang. Frische Brötchen kann man jeden Morgen holen. Essen könnte man auch dort. Mit dem Velo ist es ein Traum. Schnell ist man in der Stadt Sneek oder man kann die Gegend geniessen. Würden sofort wieder kommen

Gostou Wir fanden es so schön, dass wir unseren Aufenthalt verlängert haben. Wir waren direkt am Wasser und konnten sämtliche Aktivitäten wie schwimmen, angeln, Boot fahren direkt vor Ort machen. Es ist auf dem Platz ruhig und die Stellplätze sind großzügig gestaltet.

Cycling to Sneek

Não gostou When I chose and booked this campsite it was because of all the lovely photographs of waterside pitches. False advertising. Be warned if you have a touring caravan you will be allocated a pitch on grass no hard standing even though it states that on the pitch up booking confirmation, in a field surrounded by hedges with no views at all. Then you will be told you will have to leave you car outside in the car park despite the fact there is more than enough room for your car. Despite the fact that the chalets are allowed to park their cars next to the chalet.
I tried very hard to get a waterside pitch with two members of staff to no avail.

I would estimate 95% of this site with waterside pitches are ‘permanents’ and there is a distinct feeling of segregation between caravans and the rest where they stick caravans in a boring no view field.
Check in time on Pitch Up is wrong it should be 1300hrs NOT 12 noon.

After 4 days we had a tent camp next to us with a family of very noisy kids which was awful

I found this campsite quite sad and depressing to wander around seeing nothing but empty closed up caravans with awnings added onto awnings facing the water with no one in them. It was the biggest mistake of my 3 month stay in The Netherlands having booked 7 nights here.
I will avoid large commercial campsites from now on.
The best bit was driving away.

Gostou Wij hadden een heel mooie plek om te staan met zicht op de haven.
Het was er heel rustig om te verblijven , een heel mooie en verzorgde camping , alsook het sanitair.
Wij komen beslist terug.

Não gostou Één min puntje was dat er geen afvalcontainers stonden in de buurt.

Atrações locais

This part of Friesland is mighty green and pleasant, and crossed with a network of canals, rivers and lakes that make for excellent exploring by boat, by bike or on foot. However you roam, there are lots of little villages and towns around the area too for wanderings and consuming coffee and pancakes in cosy cafés. For a change of scenery, take a half-hour drive to the Gaasterland forests around Oudemirdum, where you can walk and cycle on paths that run down to the coast of the IJsselmeer. If the weather’s not conducive to outdoorsy pursuits, take the kids to the Ballorig indoor play centre in Heerenveen, half an hour away, or clamber up the walls of De Stolp climbing centre, 15 minutes away. Another kid-friendly day out is Aqua Zoo, 40 minutes away in the car. All manner of aquatic mammals call this home, including penguins, seals and flamingoes, along with others such as wallabies and gibbons.
