Peaceful scenic surrounds, easy access to some of the country’s finest day trips and the chance to cast your kit off should the mood take you – Camp Full Monte certainly lives up to its well-chosen title.
This rural retreat is over in the west of Montenegro, close to the Croatian border and 15 minutes’ drive from Herceg Novi’s Old Town, shops and stretch of coastline. It’s a fine base from which to set forth to all corners of this petite country, for it’ll take less than an hour to drive to Kotor, Risan, Perast and plenty of other pretty spots.
Closer to home, there’s much to get stuck into if you’re after a bit of activity; the folks here partner with trusted locals to sort guests with guided hikes, boat trips or days of rafting, paddleboarding, kayaking and the like.
Clothing is optional at Camp Full Monte, so you can drift around au naturel if you please, or keep your togs on if you’re comfier that way. Whatever your state of dress/undress, you should find plenty of space to relax around the site, perhaps hobnobbing with fellow guests in the chillout lounge, nabbing something from the site’s library of books and board games or picking some fresh organic veg to accompany your barbecue.
Other facilities here include a well-equipped kitchen, bike hire and eco-friendly bathrooms with waste water recycling systems (no need to feel guilty about spending just a tad longer in the shower here…)

A Blue Line bus service runs twice a day from the main bus station in nearby Herceg Novi to the village of Prijevor (300m from the site).
A more frequent service is also available to the Montenegro border (the Blue Line Sutorina bus), which is 3km from the site. It's a steep uphill walk from the border so with advance notice the site can offer a pick up from the border.

Atrações locais
Being a bijou little country means that many of Montenegro’s best bits are within easy reach for folk staying at Camp Full Monte. Start with a stroll around Herceg Novi’s Old Town (15 minutes away by car), peruse Perast’s old Venetian port (an hour’s drive) and roam around the Roman ruins and prehistoric paintings in Risan (55 minutes).
The UNESCO-listed Bay of Kotor is worth a day or two, too – fuel up at the cafés or restaurants in Kotor’s Old Town (an hour away) before hiking your way around the city walls, or see the bay drift past as you chill out on a yacht trip, perhaps stopping for a swim or a spot of fishing along the way. A little further afield, you can get to Bar, Budva and scenic Skadar Lake with a drive of less than two hours.
One country not enough? Cross over to Croatia and it’ll take you an hour or so to get to Dubrovnik for a day wandering through the Old Town, wandering along the walls and taking the cable car up Srd Hill for walks and amazing views.
