In the Midi-Pyrénées and the Hautes-Pyrénées – might you guess that the setting of Camping Les Craoues is rather mountainous? Mountainous and utterly fab, in fact, among spectacular scenery, close to the peaks, lakes and forests of the Pyrenees National Park, and within 40 minutes' drive of the world-famed pilgrimage centre of Lourdes. You could of course take to the car to see as much as poss of this spectacular landscape, but the Craoues team recommends taking yourself off cycling, hiking and fishing if possible instead (stopping off frequently to snap a plethora of pics). The savvy crew also know you might hanker after a relaxing time after a day out and about doing that, so they've added a pool for guests to spend an hour or two in or by, and a new reading room with wifi for gentle times indoors. To ensure you're fully recharged in between all the mountain climbing, cycling and hiking, the site has also laid on loads of stuff for kids to let off steam at, including a play area with trampoline, seesaws and slides; a games room, and space all around to run and play. Pétanque, volleyball and ping pong tournaments are held regularly. Once you're fully refreshed and the sun is sinking, amble over to the site garden for aperitifs en plein air (or happy hour in the garden for non-French lingo types) and themed dinners with live music and karaoke, all run by the friendly team.

Não gostou Couldn't get electric to work despite owner trying.

Do gerente: Thank you for sharing your experience. We sincerely regret that your stay did not fully meet your expectations. May can sometimes bring rainy days and cooler temperatures, which may impact outdoor comfort.
Regarding electricity, our team made every effort to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, and we regret that this was not enough to improve your experience. It is possible that choosing a higher amperage would have been necessary; we offer a motorhome package with 6A as well as an 8A electricity package.
Additionally, we encountered an unusual situation with a bird attempting to build its nest in the ceiling of the sanitary facilities. Despite our efforts to prevent this, it resulted in a deposit of moss and twigs. Rest assured that we are diligently maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of our facilities to provide a pleasant environment for our visitors.
Your feedback is valuable, and we take it very seriously in our continuous improvement approach. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and provide you with a fully satisfying experience.

Atrações locais

This is spectacularly scenic land, with outdoor activities of all sorts easily available within biking, hiking or driving distance. The mighty mountain passes of the Pyrenees can be crossed from here too – they're reachable by car, but you'll feel much more virtuous if you do them by foot or bike… High mountains, lakes, waterfalls, forests and cliffs all make up the nearby Pyrénées National Park, for long days of sightseeing, nature spotting, walking and cycling. If you're taking to the area on your own two feet, the most popular trail of the park is from Gabas to the mountain peak at Pic du Midi d'Ossau; be sure to source a plentiful supply of Gabas cheese in town for your hiking picnic. A few minutes' drive or about 25 minutes by bike will take you to the Château de Mauvezin, a medieval fortress built between the 11th and 14th centuries. There are eye-watering views of the Pic du Midi and the Pyrenees from here, along with keep houses 37 metres high.
