Placed where the Dordogne and Garonne rivers meet the Atlantic, Gironde has over 125 kilometres of coastline, beaches and sand dunes to surf off, and the highest sand dune in Europe, the Dune du Pyla. Inland, buoys and girls have the option of trips along 3500 kilometres of rivers, or kayaking / swimming / windsurfing in Gironde's three wide lakes - Hourtin-Carcans, Lacanau and Cazaux.
