Tenby Shepherd's Huts

Gostou: Nice idea and good layout, nice site and location

Não gostou: Shepherds hut was not clean on arrival, appeared as though previous residents may have cleaned but the site had not checked. Bedding provided had a lot of pet hairs and hairs on, general musty smell in cabin, the pots and pans had charred food in, the water container supplying the hut had no water in and was black inside, one window was broken - not an issue but this would've been ideal to let us know about. Other than cleanliness it was a lovely stay.

Gostou: Lovely quiet campsite Well maintained

Não gostou: Unfortunately this time we were disappointed with our stay When we arrived, there was no one in reception, phoned the numbers that I had on my booking confirmation, several times and did not receive an answer, as we had been before, we made our way to the shepherd's hut, we were going to wait there, and try to contact the reception. But we found the Key had been left in the door, so we let ourselves in, we were not sure if it was ready for us, the sofa/double bed area was covered in dust, it really could have done with being vacuumed, it was obvious to see that is wasn't clean, there wasn't enough bedding (there was a sheet and duvet cover missing, phoned the emergency number on the information clip board that was in the hut, a lady supplied us with extra bedding), I had phoned up a few days beforehand to say that there would be one more person joining us on our holiday and no codes for the WiFi left in our hut like last time. We didn't feel this hut was as well kitted out as well as the last one, I know it's silly but if you provide washing up liquid, there should be enough to last your stay, the frying pan was too small to cater for 4 people, it was the same size as the one I use at home, we call it the egg pan as its only purpose is to fry an egg. We didn't use the BBQ as it hadn't been cleaned, if was still full of charcoal and the grill was still covered in bits of food. I don't feel the hut had been cleaned before we arrived, the complimentary gifts had been added ( tea, coffee, sugar, milk and a couple of bottles of locally brewed beers) along with the tea towel, disposable cloth and washing up sponge. I'm not sure if we'd stay again Which is a shame, as we absolutely loved our first stay here, that is why we returned

We advise our guests via our handbook to clean the BBQ's after each use, this enables us to check them and give them a quick clean if needed. Gostou: Lovely site, well situated with a short walk to the beach & then only a couple of miles into Tenby easy walking. The shepherd hut was well equipped with thoughtful extras (couple of local beers, charcoal for the bbq). It was cosy for our bigger kids but perfect for a long weekend. Much preferable to camping as we had a wet bank hol! The site gave us 4 tokens for the wifi which was very much appreciated by my teen and tween.

Não gostou: The hut was not spotlessly clean with old food in the drain in the sink, and crockery put away still wet. We struggled to make contact in person with reception when needed but email was responded to very quickly.

Gostou: The location was great a 15 minute walk to a quiet area on south beach. It was an easy drive to many different attractions.

Não gostou: I found the mattress very uncomfortable and it made it hard to sleep. I think the hut could have been cleaner on arrival. I cleaned the hut myself when we arrived. I think the hut could do with some minor renovations. I'm afraid we wouldn't stay again due to not being able to sleep on the uncomfortable mattresses.

Gostou: Loved the area it was situated and how clean everything was.

Não gostou: The showers with the push buttons are hit and miss with hot and cold but the sodden hit showers have mixer taps and are great.

Gostou: Closeness to Tenby Mountain scenery

Não gostou: Bedding didn’t smell clean shepherds hut was not cleaned properly . The bedding wasn’t washed! Bottom sheets smelt fresh. the pillows and duvets smelt unwashed. Crumbs/food under microwave. Cooker uncleaned BBQ old/rusty Main toilet/shower could do with modernising. The views were lovely and close to Tenby town which was great. Location great ,but the site wasn’t for us.

Gostou: Children loved their bunk beds. The hut had everything we needed on a campsite in a great location

Gostou: Lovely quiet site. Shepard hut was well equipped and clean, comfortable beds, shower block was nice and clean. Bottle of wine and a beer was a lovely touch.
