Gostou: Received a warm welcome from the hosts who also ran the Pub situated on site where there was live music playing. Hot water available in the shower block and facilities were clean. Beautiful scenic location within walking distance of the popular tourist attraction ‘The Skirrid Inn’. Did not use the Wi-Fi but plenty of signal on site. Would book to visit again!

Não gostou: Pitches were a little close to each other but this did not impact our stay.

Gostou: Stayed two nights, tent pitch with electric hookup. We were a bit concerned after reading the reviews but were pleasantly surprised. Yes, the pitches are in close quarters so that does make it noisy at capacity, we just stuck in headphones and listened to a podcast when our neighbours got a bit loud. If you like a spacious set up then maybe this isn't the campsite for you. We had a lovely warm welcome with instructions how to use the barrier (great for safety), where everything was and what time food was served until etc. Lovely level site, small enough that the toilets/shower block/washup we're far and we had a decent sized corner plot for our tent and car (love being able to have the car next to the tent). Showers etc were basic but did the job, in the ladies there were 3 toilet cubicles, 3 showers and two sinks so had to wait a few times as the campsite was busy. Same with the gent plus urinal. Sinks for wash up just outside. We ate at the pub on our second night - fantastic food. We had fish & chips and the burger, huge portion and just the job. Staff were wonderful, friendly and efficient. Location of site is great for walks and Abergavenny isn't far either.

Não gostou: Not dislikes as such, just a few notes. The shower block would benefit from an update . The site is close to the train tracks, and the train does like honking on the way past! So its not a quiet site - which isn't a problem in itself just worth bearing in mind if that's what you're looking for.

Gostou: Excellent site with barrier entry for security and nice flat pitches. Stayed here countless times due to its great location to nearby bikepark. Campsite amenities are as you’d expect and although it appears very busy in terms or number of tents and campers, it never feels overcrowded and you don’t have to wait to use showers etc. Less than 10 mins from Abergavenny which has a great spread of places to eat out or order takeaway if you don’t fancy cooking or you’re arriving after the pub has stopped serving food (8:30pm I think) Made even better by the welcoming staff and pub on site which serves great food - will continue to use this site for every trip - they deserve to be popular so I just hope there’s always room!

Não gostou: As the current proprietors have only been managing the site for a few months, it would be unfair to critique certain aspects which are due to be addressed.

Gostou: Loved every minute of my stay at The River's Edge campsite. I went with few group of families and we were all able to pitch our tents close together 😃 The facilities were generally well kept and the staff were super helpful and friendly. The kids loved the park and it was close by so you could keep a good watch on them. There are beautiful walks for your four legged friends too! 🐕 Oh and there's a pub on site - bonus! Their Sunday lunch was delicious! The site was close to Abergavenny town so you can get to Aldi and Morrison if you need anything. Absolutely had an amazing time and I would definitely recommend this lovely small campsite. Thanks for your hospitality.

Gostou: Spotless level site with a nice vibe and lovely accommodating staff. Bonus having a pub which has been recently refurbished to a high standard serving delicious food and beers on tap! An added bonus was the play park for our children! The site was small enough so that you felt your children were safe to meet other children and play with older siblings away from the tent. Something children can't so these days. Everything you needed was super close to your tent (toilets, showers, water, washing up station. Even an Aldi!) Which was beneficial, especially with young children. Toilets and washing up stations were cleaned daily and the cleaner was very smiley and helpful. I enjoyed hearing her greet people in the morning with her friendly voice. We booked the same time as some friends and their children and being a small site, meant that we were close together. We had a brilliant time catching up and enjoyed being able to sit outside our tents having fun! Some sites are far to strict at night and you feel forced to bed at 10-11pm, although this is the only time some of us get to have time together when the children are in bed when camping. Being able to do this made our break with friends and will definitely be back after hearing the new owners future plans! Damien and his colleagues were very kind to allow us all to eat their Sunday carvery at the same time, as the pub was very busy - which can only be a good sign! It was tasty and we even got speaking to an owner from 50+ years ago at the bar who was pleased with how good the renovation looked. Thank you Damien and staff for accommodating a brilliant and end to the summer break with family and friends. Good luck to you and your lovely team!!

Não gostou: Would have liked to see drinking water taps clearly sign posted and some chippings added around the tap in the field to avoid getting muddy feet when collecting water. Did not spoil our stay though! We will definitely be back.
