Do gerente: Scott, thank you for your feedback on the visitors policy. On arrival, you asked about our visitor arrangements, which were explained to you. Should a visitor be on site, it is to be pre-arranged by the guest, so that we know a non-guest will be present – this is especially important during out of hours periods. Instead of parking at the pitches, the visitor is required to use the pay and display car park which has a £5 per day fee, though the fee is waived where the visitor uses the cafe. We also asked that you met the visitor at the main gate whenever that gate is closed. You explained to us that your visitor would not be on site as they were ‘picking you up at the gate soon’. We confirmed that was fine and that no fees would apply.
What transpired was quite different – whilst this is no issue in itself, it did however lead to a problem for your son when he was found alone at the back of the café over 6 hours later by a member of staff, well after the cafe had closed to the general public. I’m afraid for security reasons, we were obliged to approach him for details as no visitors had been arranged to be on site that evening. He duly gave the details for which we thanked him and apologised for startling him, but did ask that he reminded you that visitors should be pre-arranged with us.
Had you updated us on the change in the arrangements for your visitor, your son and ourselves would not have been placed in an awkward position – passing the blame does seem somewhat unreasonable given how you were agreeable to the explanation of the visitor requirements on arrival; if you had any issue with the policy, we would have happily discussed this with you. I’m afraid we also disagree with you in that we believe the 4 hours in total spent on site by your son does not equate to a ‘pick up’ situation as your review states. We can therefore only conclude that you wished to avoid the visitor car park fees. We also note that said fees remain unpaid on your departure, which has duly been reported to Pitchup in our complaint logged against you earlier today.
Overall, we do have a duty of care regarding the safety and security of our guests and where there are non-guests on site when they shouldn’t be, this must be followed up to our satisfaction.

Gostou Brilliant two-day stay! Couldn’t fault it. The site was spotless—clean, tidy, and clearly well looked after. Food was excellent, and the fact they’ll bring takeaway straight to your van at a time that suits you is such a nice touch.

It’s only about a 20-minute walk to the iconic giant stepping stones, so perfect for a bit of adventure. Even pitches near the roadside had lovely views and were quiet enough that you’d never know a road was there. Enough distance for peace and proper relaxation.

WiFi worked right at the pitch (bonus!), and the whole vibe was welcoming from start to finish. Just the kind of place you settle in fast and leave wishing you’d booked longer.

Gostou I can't say anything about the campsite because we weren't allowed to go there

Não gostou Something went wrong with the booking: the reservation was for 1 adult and 1 teenager.

However, children/teenagers are not allowed. I didn't notice the note about this.

So when we arrived at the site, we were turned away. The cancellation deadline was 2 weeks before arrival. The operator was uncooperative. We didn't receive a refund.

Very annoying: the money was lost, and we had to spontaneously find a new site that evening!

Do gerente: As an adults only site, it is site policy that we decline bookings for groups containing a child. The email of the Pitchup booking confirmation showed to me on your phone was a reservation for two adults only. To assist, details of a local family site less than 1km away were provided to you.

Since your visit, I have contacted Pitchup about your claim that the booking was for one adult and one child. Following their investigation, Pitchup have confirmed to me that no children were included on the booking and it is also not possible to either search or book this site where a party includes any children. As mentioned to you at your arrival, we advise that you contact Pitchup regarding your complaint about the Pitchup website to see if they can help.

We accepted this booking on the basis of 2 adults only as specified – had we known there was an error on the booking or that there were children in your group, we would have contacted you in the first instance to resolve the matter.

Gostou Friendly well maintained site. All facilities except shower. Lovely area to sit outside on picnic benches with parasol, lots of games to play if it's bad weather.

Não gostou No shower. Share the one and only toilet with cafe customers.

Gostou We were welcomed by the owner who directed us to our pitch. He then showed us around all the facilities. The pitches a large and gravelled with electric hook up if required. Each pitch has a wooden bench which over looks a field.

Gostou Fantastic site and friendly owner this is our second time visiting Afron Braint, the added addition of benches, flowers and covered washing up area since our last visit was a really nice touch. Along with fresh pizza, spotless facilities, covered seating areas, location to beaches and dog friendly walking areas the effort and care of the owner is really paying off for everyone to enjoy. Thanks we will be back very soon.

Gostou Absolutely loved this site it’s a small site with 5 pitches ideal for a nervous dog ! The views of Snowden are amazing!The owners are so helpful and lovely ,all areas are immaculate ideal base for newborough beach will definitely return and try the pizza next time 😊😊
