Are you a ‘have Dryrobe, will travel’ type of person? Do you choose your holiday destinations based on how easy it is to access the beach and whether you can go wild swimming? If so, consider making your way to Perllan Penrhyn Certificated Location, a Caravan and Motorhome Club site on a sheltered bay on the west coast of Anglesey. A sandy beach is within walking distance here (literally just a matter of crossing the road), so you can start each day with an invigorating dip in the brine, as you watch the ferries roll in and out of the terminal at Holyhead (20 minutes’ drive), or have a pre-dinner paddleboard excursion as the sun sets over the water. And there are more benefits to staying at Perllan Penrhyn, starting with the distinctly peaceful vibe. This could be down to its remote location, on a working beef and sheep farm – or maybe it’s because the site welcomes only adult guests. No screaming children here, thank you very much. It’s also good news for those who prefer hiking to swimming: Perllan Penrhyn sits right on the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path, so be sure to include epic strolls with far-reaching views of the Irish Sea (maybe with your faithful four-legged companion at your heel…) on your schedule. The nearest shop is a 10-minute drive away, just off the A5025, in the village of Llanfachraeth; if you’re after restaurants, head into Valley (10 minutes) or cross the Cymyran Strait on to Holy Island (20 minutes).

Local tranquilo e bem cuidado, com belas vistas para o mar e acesso à praia. Os lotes são amplos e equipados. Os donos, especialmente Gwen, são muito simpáticos. Ideal para cães. Alguns apontam problemas com o ponto Elsan (mangueira curta, sem tela), mas já foi corrigido. Wi-Fi pode ser instável. Não há banheiros ou chuveiros.

Gostou This Cl has really good, completely level, fully serviced hardstanding pitches surrounded by neatly mown lawns. There is a row of approx. 8 Static Homes in front but you do get views of the sea. Pitches 1 and 2 have an uninterrupted view. If you approach the owner direct there is a £5 discount over the Pitch Up fee. The location is a little isolated with the nearest well stocked local shop about 8 to 10 minutes drive along relatively narrow lanes. There are large supermarkets at Holyhead around 20 minutes away. You can walk straight from the site onto the Anglesey Coast Path. You can swim, Kayak, Paddle Board on the beach right in front of you and this is really shallow and sandy about 1 hour either side of high tide. At high tide the beach is a bit pebbly and water quickly a little deeper.

Gostou Beautiful site, practicaly on the beach, good size plots, spotlesly clean and immaculate lawns.
Very obliging owner when I got my dates mixed up and arrived a day early, put us on the spare grass pitch which suited us better as our German Shepherd could have a longer tether.
Liked having our own water supply and grey water waste point on each pitch. Very well laid out and if you have your own toilet/shower facilities, a perfect site.

Gostou This is a beautiful adults only CL set in amazing countryside with a private beach within a 100 metres. The pitches are level with EHU water and drain on each one. There is also free WiFi access. The site is within the grounds of a working farm and we enjoyed seeing the cattle. Obviously with it being a farm there is livestock noise and smells which didn’t bother us in the slightest, but may not be for everyone. The site is very rural and peaceful. There are walks through the farm yard to a large static site which has a shop and further beaches. There are views across the sea to the port of Holyhead and you can see the ferries coming and going. This our second visit this year and we will be going again. It’s very easy to see availability and book through pitchup.com.

Gostou Lovely small site and great welcome from Gwenn with helpful local knowledge and site info. The fully serviced pitches are well spaced, large and thoughtfully laid out so you get a view of the sea and all day sun. Elsan point clean and well maintained and you are straight on the coastal path. It is a working farm so you do get some noise from the cows or the occasional tractor but it all adds to the experience and isn't intrusive.

Holy Island has a spectacular coastline as well as several ancient sites – from Caer y Twr, the remains of a mountaintop Iron Age fort, to the imposing Penrhos Feilw Standing Stones. Then there are the early 19th-century Goleudy Ynys Lawd lighthouse, on a rocky islet reached via a narrow bridge, and Breakwater Country Park, where you might observe swooping peregrine falcons. On the eastern coast of Anglesey is National Trust - Plas Newydd House and Gardens (35 minutes’ drive), with a famed large mural by Rex Whistler, a rhododendron garden and splendid views of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia). Cross the Menai Strait, and you’re in Bangor (40 minutes), a lively university city where you can take a leisurely stroll along the Victorian Garth Pier, which stretches right into the strait. On the outskirts of Bangor, National Trust - Penrhyn Castle & Garden was built in the Victorian era to resemble a medieval fortress.
