There’s rural and there’s really rural. Pant Gwyn Farm comes under the latter category. Set on the spectacular Llŷn Peninsula in North Wales, this caravan and camping site on a working cattle and sheep farm has far-reaching mountain and Irish Sea views from its clifftop pitches – on a clear day you can glimpse Ireland on the horizon – and from the headland, you can scramble down to a private shingle beach. Miles of walks lead off in all directions, so bring canine chums to share your Gwynedd adventure, and perhaps hike sections of the Llŷn Coastal Path direct from the site. This remote spot is so peaceful that all you can hear is cows, sheep and birdsong, and on clear evenings you can expect spectacular sunsets over the sea. The nearest shop is 15 minutes’ drive away, so it’s best to come well prepared with provisions to cover your stay. There are a couple of pubs within about 10 minutes’ drive of the site, so you’ll certainly never go hungry. Simple campsite facilities include a shower block and modern loos, as well as two washing machines, a fridge and washing-up facilities.

Gostou We like nearly everything about this campsite.
It has got stunning views and loads of space.
There is a toilet, shower block (shower extra £1) and utility room. Everywhere is clean and there always been enough toilet roll 😉
There is drinking water available.
The owner is very friendly and helpful.
We basically had all the big field for ourselves 😍
We will definitely come back 😊

Gostou We loved everything about this campsite. It has the most amazing views, short walk to get to the costal path. Very peaceful & loved having the farm animals around us. Can’t wait to visit again.

Gostou The environment was super relaxed and calm, location was beautiful with views of sunsets each night. Only a 25minute cliff walk to the beach and 25 minute road walk to the town with a lovely pub!

Facilities were clean and everything you need including washing facilities and fridge/freezer. Showers were £1/5mins so no fear about it running out but we mostly stuck to solar showers except when they got too hot.

Não gostou Some of the pitches were further from the hookup points, not a major issue but useful to carry a longer cable. We were able to use a pitch that was closer to wasn’t a problem but something to be mindful of.

There isn’t a lot of signal, nothing to do with the camp but just obviously being so rural it is worth being aware of :) we enjoyed the social media detox as a result!

Gostou We absolutely loved our stay at this campsite – the location couldn’t have been more perfect. Nestled right on the coast, it offered stunning views with rolling hills on one side and the sea on the other. You can follow the coastal path straight from the site and discover loads of little dandy or pebbly coves – great fun to scramble down to and explore.

It’s just a short 15-minute walk along the path to Porth Towyn beach, which has a fabulous beach café – the perfect spot to relax with a coffee or lunch after a morning walk.

The campsite is part of a working farm and had everything we needed: spotless toilets and showers, washing and drying machines, and good washing-up areas. Everything was kept immaculately clean, and the showers ran on £1 or £2 coins – even £1 gave you plenty of time. The pitches were spacious and flat and it was nice and quiet.

The owners welcome was relaxed and friendly.

A lovely, peaceful place to unwind with nature on your doorstep. We’ll definitely be back!

Gostou Showers/toilet block really good. Good location for coastal path.

Não gostou Water tap was a long way only one tap for whole site. The toilet facilities would be inadequate if the site was busy.

Gostou This is a lovely site, very peaceful at the time we visited. We have particularly enjoyed watching birds we don’t normally see perching on the wires and fences. Toilets very clean.

Atrações locais

When it comes to beaches, you can take your pick of a fair few. Sandy Porth Towyn Tudweiliog (five minutes’ drive) is something of a local secret, while Porth Ysgaden (10 minutes) is popular for paddleboarding and snorkelling around its craggy bay. You can take the kids rock pooling on the expanse at Traeth Penllech (15 minutes), or swim in shallow waters off the sweeping crescent at Porth Neigwl (20 minutes). All the climbing, hiking and cycling opportunities in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park are but 45 minutes’ drive away (the summit of Sundown can be spotted from the camping fields), but if the kids get fractious on car journeys, there are also family-friendly walks and bike rides to be had closer to home base in untamed Llŷn National Landscape (15 minutes). Take a deep dive into the history of North Wales with a visit to one (or indeed, all) of the landmark castles at Caernarfon, Beaumaris, Penrhyn, Cricceith or Harlech (all within an hour’s dive). After all that culture, reward the kids with an afternoon splashing around on the inflatable climbing course at Glasfryn Parc (25 minutes).
