Gostou The hosts were very welcoming. The site is small, quiet and peaceful. There were only 10 other campers in a large field meaning we had plenty of space. We couldn't really hear the other families or the children playing. I was apprehensive about the compost toilet, but it was cleaned regularly and didn't smell at all. There are 2 toilets and 1 shower which I thought there might be a queue for them on a morning. We didn't queue once.
We were allowed to pick our pitch, we picked a pitch with a distant sea view.
I most liked the peacefulness of the site. Sitting outside the tent on a morning listening to the birds and watching the steam train pass in the distance was beautiful.
We drove into Minehead for fish and chips and some supplies from the supermarket.
We went crabbing and fishing in Watchet harbour and chilled out at the campsite on an evening. There is plenty to see and do locally. This is an excellent base in a fantastic location. I highly recommend anyone staying here.
We will definitely be returning.

You encapsulate perfectly what we love about the location and we keep pur pitch numbers deliberately low so that people have the freedom to enjoy the surroundings without worrying about nearby campers, that way everyone has fun :)

Hopefully we will get to host you again in the future.

Gostou Location, Chilled Atmosphere, easy to leave the car behind and take a steam train! (Or bus).

Facilities kept immaculately clean.

Gostou Lovely site in a beautiful setting. Perfect if you are looking for a peaceful fuss free camping site. Walkable to lovely beach. Lots to do in local area for kids. We stayed for 5 nights and had a fantastic time. Hosts were so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely stay again.

Gostou Plenty of space so could choose our pitch. Clean toilet and shower.
Nice view of steam railway from the field.
Easy walk to beach.

Gostou Short walk to the beach, lots of space, easy to find. Also there is a close by station with vintage trains that you can catch to the coastal town of Minehead.

I am glad you enjoyed many aspects of the site and take on board there is always room for improvement.

We are a tiny site in terms of numbers of tents and usually the facilities are adequate, however I do recognise the need for an additional toilet and one is planned to be installed shortly.

Gostou Friendly welcome, nice site, at the top of the field you can see the sea but the flatter part of the field is at the bottom. Nice and close to Minehead, Blue Anchor, Watchet and Dunster.

Não gostou Had to be shown by another camper how to turn on the light in compost toilet as it is not obvious and unfortunately this wasn't working on the second night so its best to take your torch. Also unfortunately, the toilet is not checked often and despite a note clearly explaining what to do and what you can and cant put down there, the toilet was an awful mess the second morning which another camper cleaned as well as he could so that it could be used.

I am so sorry you had trouble with the toilets. I myself clean and check and cl them 2 to 3 time a day every day without fail. Unfortunately not everyone is great at cleaning up after themselves. I will increase my cleaning checks on busier days.

The toilet is normally very clean and I apologise for it not being so when you visited. I know how important this is.

On the light situation, it is solar so will run out if not switched off. There are instructions on the use of this and the toilet inside the toilet as you enter. I am sorry you didnt spot them. I will be putting up extra signs to tell people to switch the light off, but solar does mean it can run out.
Bringing a torch camping is always a good idea :)
