A gorgeously rural corner of Somerset is the setting for Seven Acres Camping Site, which stretches over (you guessed it…) seven acres on the edge of the Longleat Estate, a five-minute drive from the town of Frome. A stream runs through the site, which is just off the B3092; this makes it easy to access, but it also means you may hear some traffic noise. A railway line runs parallel to the road, too… but you might find that the jolly whistling of a passing train rather adds to the romance of camping. It’s all about perspective, isn’t it? Regardless, forget the possible noises and accentuate the positive, starting with oodles of space and a play area with play equipment and a miniature adventure course where the kids can climb, slide and swing to their hearts’ content (while you keep an eye on proceedings from the nearby shaded bench). There are no cars permitted in the camping field, keeping the atmosphere peaceful; after you park up, you'll need to unload and walk to your pitch. This is a self-check-in site, so settle in at your own pace. While you may not see them, the team is on-site daily to make sure everything is running smoothly. Your canine companion is not left behind either, with plenty of dog-friendly walks in the surrounding area. Have a go at the circular Mells Walk (10 minutes’ drive), following the course of the Mells River; or head to Clanger Wood (20 minutes’ drive), known for its bluebell meadows and colourful butterflies. Cranborne Chase National Landscape (35 minutes) has trails leading through its distinctive landscape of chalk river valleys and escarpments; this area is also an International Dark Skies Reserve, so be sure you have all you need to stay until after sundown for some spectacular stargazing.

Um local lindo, limpo e bem cuidado entre árvores maduras com um riacho encantador. Acomodações espaçosas e bem mantidas, com bom sol/sombra. Instalações novas e impecáveis. Ótimo para crianças com área de lazer e para remar no riacho. Check-in fácil. Proprietários simpáticos e prestativos. Gostou Space , quiet location , traffic noise minimal . Pretty stream and plenty of space to sit out without feeling to close to others . Sunny spot even later in evening in my space .

Não gostou Shower facility needs better changing arrangements only one shower with private lockable door , others accessed from toilets straight into shower . The private shower had a curtain which meant the floor was wet and quite slippery

Gostou Such a beautiful campsite, very clean and tidy. Easy to check in with the gate code and your pitch number emailed to you before hand. We did have an issue with someone setting up camp on our designated pitch but the owner sorted things out quickly.

Não gostou A little busy for our liking but that’s our preference, No fault of the owner or campsite.

Gostou Clean and tidy site

Não gostou Most of the showers had only glass doors so no privacy. No proper check in and no owners seemed to be very present so not clear how to get help if needed. Dogs are allowed on site but must be kept on leads, this isn’t the case there was a dog running around most of the time, around peoples pitches and no one to keep an eye on things. Pitches weren’t level and most of them it would be a struggle to erect and awning or tent on them. Road and train track quite loud.

Gostou General setting was lovely, with lots of space between pitches etc. liked that we could have a campfire too. WC and shower Facilities were minimal but the chap who came to clean them left them spotless. Check in was simple and we could come and go as we pleased with the security of a secure gate access. Great value for money
