Anyone who relishes a bit of variety on their holidays should give this award-winning site serious consideration: there are buckets and spades of activities for all ages, both on site and in the immediate vicinity. Tucked into a valley, only a mile away from swathes of Blue Flag beaches, and a 10-minute drive from Dawlish Warren, Cofton Holidays has 80 acres of meadows, orchards and woodland laced with nature trails for visitors to explore. The facilities here will keep the whole family happily entertained for weeks: Cofton's indoor pool has massage jets and hydrotherapy bubble loungers, as well as a sauna, steam room and gym (a small additional charge applies), and there's a splash area with water jets to entertain the kids. Or set off angling instead at one of the five private fishing lakes, to bag a monster carp (24-pounders aren't unknown here). More? Kids can bounce around in the three dedicated play areas or explore the adventure zone in the woods, with activities such as pond dipping and bug hunting laid on in season; if it’s raining, there’s also a games room with amusements and a pool table. After these exertions, retire to the poolside patio of the Swan Inn for a refresher and a snack: the pub opens every night and serves up a good range of grub (breakfast and lunch are also available at weekends), plus regular entertainment including live bands, discos and karaoke in high season. Cofton also has its own fish and chip joint, as well as a shop for any vittles you might need. Wifi across the whole site (charges apply) means staying connected is simple, and it’s also worth mentioning that Cofton has excellent facilities for disabled visitors.

  • The indoor pool, sauna and steam room will be closed for essential maintenance from 02 June until 10 July 2025. Ashburn Springs Leisure Complex and Amelia's Pantry bar and restaurant will be open all year except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Warren Retreat offers evening entertainment during February half-term and from Easter through October. Guests must obtain a permit from reception for fishing. Electricity is metered on site at £0.30 per kWh and must be paid onsite using a pre-paid topup card.

Não gostou Hideously expensive, food, drinks, EVERYTHING is extra cost (dog, internet, electric, activities, even the indoor pool isn't included. If the pitches were cheap, I'd get it but I paid £105 per night for a pitch, surely something should be included?
Don't accept cash in the arcade or pub, this should stop and will stop me ever coming back, I only visit again if cash is accepted.

Gostou Everything, beautiful site, lots to do, someone met us on arrival and took us to our pitch and explained where everything was on site. Clean facilities and friendly staff.

Não gostou Nothing at all, the only 1 thing would be we were sited opposite the fishing lake which made it a bit hard to get caravan out when day fishing people were parked in the parking spaces but managed it just meant having to reverse up the road quite far.

Gostou Great option for families with plenty to do and lots of food options. Clean site, toilets and showers.

Não gostou Chip shop wait time. 45 minutes for sausage and chips when there were only 3 people ordered before me. Some were waiting 35 minutes just for chips and later orders were getting served first. Customers were getting very frustrated.

Gostou I don’t normally leave reviews but this place is amazing!! We often miss out as we have a dog on a lot of things but the fact that you can take your dog to the outside pool and in the cafe and pub is amazing!! We have already book to go back next year. The high light was the tractor ride to go to the beach. Highly recommended by a family with young kids and a dog

Gostou Fantastic outdoor pool with splash pad!
The site is very clean and well maintained.
The staff do not stop they are up and down in the carts showing people to there pitchs or maintaining the grounds.
There was family bathrooms and one with a bath.
The disabled bathrooms wear nice.

Não gostou Fully booked

Although the disabled facilities are fantastic I do think that the site would greatly benefit from 1 or 2 'changing places'.

Gostou Lovely site with loads of stuff to do for everyone. The food was ok but not a lot of choice. The entertainment in the evening was good and bar prices a little over the norm but to be expected

Não gostou We didn't like the amount of young teenagers riding their bikes through the beer garden using the steps like a jump. Also for the size of the camp the entertainment room was far too small and it was difficult to be able to get a seat.

Gostou Good facilities, something for everyone. Food was amazing from on site restaurant and great value for money. Great onsite shop at very reasonable prices. Friendly staff

Wandering just outside the site, the nearby clifftops have pretty walks; there are gentle bike rides around and about; plus beaches and waterways offering more sail-, paddle- and wave-powered action than you can shake a stick at. Take a bus (the stop’s only 100 metres away) to explore a bit further afield: this corner of Devon's jampacked with things to see and do, including castles, botanic gardens, zoos, aquariums, animal farms, model villages and adventure parks. It's a 10-minute drive from the site to spectacular Dawlish Warren, home to a sandy beach and a tiptop nature reserve.
