Little Leat

Little Leat is close to the Mining Heritage coast; further down the valley are several restored sites, and the coast path heading north takes you into dramatic Poldark country at Botallack (five minutes’ drive), and then through the Geevor Tin Mine (10 minutes) where the underground experience should give you a good taste of how it all worked. Turning inland, there are lots of ancient sites to seek out – Tregeseal stone circle and Chun Castle are both easily accessed on foot (in about 10 minutes and 40 minutes respectively), while the likes of Lanyon Quoit and Mên-an-Tol are a little drive away (15 minutes and 20 minutes). Back at the coastline you probably can’t avoid the temptation of getting down to the very edge of the country at Land’s End Visitor Attraction (15 minutes’ drive); a similar drive gets you to the gorgeous Sennen Cove for surfing days (with lessons and board hire throughout the summer). Can’t get enough of that coast? The South West Coast Path is close by, with lots of little coves to explore at low tide.
