Ponies! Heaps of things will make your kids’ hearts sing on a stay at long-established and family-run Music Water Touring Park near Padstow in Cornwall, but you can bet that the petting corner on site to nuzzle the noses of snuggly ponies will be any small person’s first melodious stop. (You can then casually inform them – kids, not ponies – that Music Water is within trotting distance of Camel Creek Adventure Park, and we bet they’ll be singing all through the hol.) As befits a park with ponies on it, Music Water has a paddock layout for those to prefer to pitch up in a peaceful countryside setting. Kids can canter off to the play area and games room with pool tables, amusement machines and table tennis; for all sizes, the outdoor pool and family-friendly bar will keep the holiday harmonious. Amenities-wise, guests have access to two shower and toilet blocks with free hot water, a launderette, freezer pack service and an on-site post box (to send home jubilant postcards). Trotting off site, Music Water is a few miles from the coastal walks and sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast of north Cornwall, four miles from Padstow and the Camel Trail, and seven miles from Wadebridge. Newquay – and its zoo – is about eight miles away, and the famed Eden Project about half an hour’s drive. Buy barbecue bits and essentials at the shop a couple of miles away or at the Tesco in Padstow; diners out have stacks of choice from restaurants and pubs in Padstow, Wadebridge, Newquay and St Merryn.

Gostou The pitch was good, very close to toilet which was great as we have small children. Also close to the park which was good so I could see them from the pitch.
Staff allowed us to charge phones in the bar when our car charger didn’t work. Showers were nice, not too hot or cold.

Não gostou The bar and games room was small and dingy. Very remote location for the site. Have to travel to see anything. No walking or cycle paths which you would normally find at a campsite. Not much to stay on site for, but somewhere to rest your head more than anything. Bathrooms could do with being checked more often as there was one paper towel dispenser which was empty 70% of the time due to the campsite being quite full. Also had children running around our tents after 11pm, tripping over the guy ropes and pulling the pegs out the floor.
No signal or WiFi on site.

Gostou The site is lovely. Beautifully kept and feels very safe. Kids have plenty of space to play. Pitches are a good size and the onsite bar and games room is a winner. The ponies are a firm favourite too.

Não gostou Toilets could do with updating, but clean and functional. Never over crowded.

Gostou Love it here big plots and never had a bad experience will be returning again kids have fun mixing with others and we like the site has no entertainment make our stay cheaper and kids interact more with us

Não gostou Showers could be on longer , push button type go off to quick if washing hair [from the wife ) kids will struggle if the relay on Internet but we didnt have a issue as was on holiday so limited screen time

Gostou Lovely site with stunning views. Spacious plots. I loved the flowers and plants all over the site it was a lovely touch and showed attention to detail. Toilets are a decent size and were clean everyday. Pool looked great though unheated, with the breeze it wasn't quite warm enough to go in. Loved the chickens and the pony's which we fed strawberries to one morning. Games room was handy for our son though a little outdated. Secluded campsite, quiet and peaceful. No footpaths from the site, straight onto country roads. Theres a gorgeous field of clover just 2 mins walk up the road, great for plane watching and Frisby 👌

Não gostou No shop on site or in walking distance. We found a tesco in padstow, a few minutes drive away. There was no music in the bar/reception in the evenings, it was very quiet so we didn't have drinks at the bar.

Gostou Nice site with decent size pitches, both grandchildren particularly liked the swimming pool it was cold but they did go in for a short while and they enjoyed feeding the ponies and chickens.

Não gostou Shower/toilet block - (both were) very outdated, toilet flushes do not work very well and takes ages for the cistern to refill again and showers only lukewarm. Desperately in need of a revamp to bring them up to the standard of other similarly priced campsites.

Beach or theme park? Theme park or beach? Surfing or sailing or fishing or horse riding or golf – or coastal hikes and countryside bikes? If you want to stick close to base, all are available within 10 miles at the most from Music Water Touring Park, with other attractions and towns like Portreath, St Ives and Tintagel also exceedingly reachable on the north coast. The Camel Creek Adventure Park jut outside Wadebridge will probably be the first stop for those on holiday with small adventurers to soar on the rides and peer at the meerkats. Also at Wadebridge, the St Eval Kart Circuit is the biggest kids' circuit in the UK and is suitable for ages three to 16 (adults can roar along the track on their own circuit too). Newquay Zoo and its Blue Reef Aquarium are other popular stops on the ‘kids in Cornwall’ trail, and just outside Newquay farm-mad offspring will milk the day for all it’s worth around the huge indoor play centre, adventure park, critters and maze of award-winning DairyLand Farm World.
