As one might guess from the name, Bucket and Spade is close to the coast – about 10 minutes’ drive from the beaches of Bracklesham Bay, West Wittering, East Wittering and Selsey, in fact. This touring site's handy location means you can spend many a day bouncing around between different coastal corners, trying out watersports, building sandcastles, paddling and taking walks through the dunes along the shoreline. Being slightly inland means that this site also has the advantage of being surrounded by splendid West Sussex countryside for walks and other outdoor activities (with the handy bonus of there being a pub two minutes’ walk from the site for a drink and some food at the end of the day if you want…) For other eating options you may like to head up into Chichester, which is 10 minutes’ drive away and has plenty of places to pick from (and a whole bunch of things to see and do as well, of course). Life on site is fairly simple, with the facilities stretching just to toilets, showers and a washing-up area. It’s all nicely maintained though, with plenty of space and trees to give shade, privacy and a bit of colour.

Gostou Excellent, quiet, dog friendly site in a great rural location.
The hard standing pitches with grassed area are ideal for a guaranteed flat surface plus the ability to erect awnings/windbreaks etc...
The toilet/shower areas are well laid out with plenty of hangers and a mirror in each one. Toilets were always clean and the showers were hot. Good washing up facility.
The bus stop serving Chichester to Selsey is a couple of minutes away, with buses every fifteen minutes. Very handy if you want to leave the van on site for the day.
Pub with beer garden across the road as well.
Plenty of places to walk the dog around the local paths and lanes. Will definitely revisit.

Great pitch with very good facilities. Would definitely recommend

Gostou Lovely quiet pitch overlooking fields facilities very good - shower areas spacious and extremely well kept. Local pub round the corner serves really good food! Bus stop just up the road very handy if you want to get around. We were only there for one night but would have liked to stay longer if we had had the time.

Gostou This is a great spot to stay while visiting Chichester and surrounds. A warm and friendly welcome on our arrival. The site is basic (no shop or cafe) but was just what we wanted, a quiet and pretty place to be. Toilets and showers are modern and clean.
There is a road nearby but this didn't bother us, the birdsong was louder.
There's a pub nearby and the bus stops into town are 2 mins away.
We had a nice stroll around the village, taking time to look at the old church and enjoy watching the wildlife at the pond.
Highly recommended, I would stay again.

Gostou Pleasant layout, not crowded. Good access to Littlehampton. Limited number of bathrooms, but well kept. Good provision for chemical waste. Couldn't find easy drain for motorhomes.

Woodie cabana (4 pessoas)

Gostou Very pretty hut with lot of storage space.and comfortable beds. We stayed only one night but it was fantastic.
Hut was very clean and seemed new.
Showers in communal space were excellent.

Não gostou Close to noisy road.

And so to the beach – perhaps with a bucket and spade for the sandy stretch at West Wittering or some watersports kit for surfing or kitesurfing at Bracklesham Bay (both 10 minutes’ drive). Elsewhere along the coast, take walks around the Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (five minutes) or out to Selsey Bill (10 minutes), or go wildlife-spotting at Pagham Harbour Local Nature Reserve (15 minutes). To get a sense of the area’s history, a trip to Weald & Downland Living Museum (15 minutes) is a must – the various exhibits, demonstrations and buildings are great for getting kids intrigued in times gone by. There’s more history to soak up at Fishbourne Roman Palace (10 minutes) and around Chichester (10 minutes), where top recommendations include the cathedral, Pallant House Gallery and Festival Theatre. For alternative activities, perhaps you’d fancy playing a round at Chichester Golf Club (five minutes) – or maybe sampling the top-notch sparkling wines on a tour and tasting at Tinwood Estate vineyard (15 minutes).
