Hill Farm Camping

Gostou Everything.
Lovely friendly owners who went out of their way to make our stay memorable.
Gorgeous location 5 mins from Gt Saling and 10mins from Finchingfield.
Tonnes to do and explore on site from the gorgeous play equipment nestled at the bottom of the site, to meeting the animals and chatting to Alan and Ruth about yhe wallabies and alpacas.
The trailer ride was a highlight!
Facilities gorgeous and clean.

Não gostou A little bit tight leaving property with a touring caravan due to high sided banks and verges. Perfectly fine if taken slowly!

Não gostou Would say more of a camping place rather than touring caravans but was ok.

Showers were ok but could have been closer to where pitches were.


No waste disposal so had to bring home.

Do gerente: Very sad to read this review, particularly as you were at a wedding all weekend and not here to truly enjoy our facilities.
We had answered a number of e-mails from yourself before you came and thought we addressed all your concerns even helping you with Taxi services.
As to waste disposal, this is clearly stated on the website and also confirmed in one of the e-mails before you came and again on arrival.
There is someone here 24/7 if you have any problems.
You were shown round the site and explained where everything is and given a number of options on where to pitch. You chose the furthest electrical pitch from the toilets.
The toilets are cleaned no less than 4 times aday and are as clean as you leave them.
Location 5 out of 10, despite the rural location, views, nature ponds, river and with a shop less than a mile away open from 7am till 9pm
You did however on arrival, complain about the long 7 hour journey you had to get here for a wedding and wonder if this has been unfortunately reflected in your review.

Gostou The location and atmosphere was perfection. As it was hilly, there were pretty areas to explore that you couldn't see from your pitch so that kept wanderings interesting. There is also a countrywalk outside of the site.
Friendly alpacas walking around us was amazing.
Toilets and showers were really smart and modern.

Não gostou I came here with my nearly 12 year old and the games and activities were I'd say on a under 10s level. But she still enjoyed herself and wants to come back next year. I'd just say you need to come with friends if you have an older child.

Gostou Very family friendly.
Plenty for children to do.
Clean and modern toilets and shower.
Well looked after site.
Other campers were respectful.
Easy to find.

Gostou Beautiful site with so much to do for children. My son enjoyed archery, something he’d not done before and splashing about in the stream. We stayed 2 days and never left site. Alan and Ruth and so friendly & helpful. We will definitely return

Não gostou If I'm being REALLY picky, could have done with another/bigger fridge.

Also the recycling bins need to be labelled more clearly.

Gostou Range of activities -

Archery, frisbee golf, golf, basketball net, swing ball, large paddling pool, badminton, football etc. play areas (slides and swings) zip wire, hill sledging. Little Bike pump track.

Animals - free roaming Alpacas. Opportunity to go in with the Emu - stroke, learn about. Poo picking in with the wallabies. Chickens & tortoises to look at too.

Opportunities to go out on the quad bike trailer - lots of fun, up and down the hills. Grass surfing was cool too!

Não gostou A lot of hills to enjoy a ‘traditional’ bike ride with smaller children. Though without the hills a lot of the other fun wouldn’t have had been had.
Other fun outweighed the traditional bike rides.

Initially thought it was quite pricey - but was worth every penny.

Gostou What a find , ourselves and 3 grandchildren aged 5 6 and 9 absolutely loved Hill farm. There's so much for the children to do. Alan and Ruth were the perfect hosts. We will definatly return.

Não gostou No chemical waste disposal but wasn't a problem as we used the site facilities which are modern and clean.

Gostou Absolutely everything. Ruth and Alan were brilliant with our grandchildren going above and beyond what we expected. We normally go on days out when we take the kids away but didn’t need to whilst at Hill farm as there is so much to do we only left the site once for food shopping. There is so much more to this place than what’s advertised, it’s a real gem.
