Gostou: The campsite is in a stunning setting not too far out of Keswick and close to some excellent walks and Watersports centres. We had lots of rain so weren't brave enough to walk the entirety of the lake, but the site is close enough to allow for it and it took us an hour to saunter into town. Cat Fells is very close too. The toilets and showers were well maintained and clean, despite the rain bringing a bit of mud (which was coned off). My boys enjoyed watching the bats above whilst eating smores around the campfire. £12 deposit and £8 for the wood, you get £5 back on return of the pit. We had a lovely stay, despite our tent deciding to leak! We'll definitely stay again.

Gostou: The amenities, showers and toilets were lovely and clean. The views all the way round were stunning, decent size field. Put 5mins up the road! 👌🏼

Não gostou: The sheep poo... our dog loved it though... showers came in handy

Yes we have had a few stray sheep come onto the site its really tricky as we don't shut the gates but they never usually stay for long once they realise there are people and dogs around, but my dog is the same with it as well!

Gostou: Very spacious, level pitches
Good toilet & shower facilities
Campfires allowed
It was a very relaxed site and a lovely pub just a 5 minute walk up the road

Não gostou: - The facilities are extremely basic. Only amenities were shower and toilet block, which were not permanent structures
- Showers were out of action during our stay due to issues in the area. Whilst this cannot be helped, there was no acknowledgement of this
- Toilets not cleaned regularly
- Grass was not cut which led to soggy feet!

Our amenities are what we advertise and also include a washing up area and water onsite. So showers and toilets weren't the only facilities. The toilets and showers are the best trailers in the area and on clean water unlike "portaloos" so I wouldn't class them as "extremely" basic and from other reviews people really like them.

Showers were out of use for 5 hours one night because the water had burst somewhere in the area leaving over 3000 homes out of water and lots of restaurants and pubs had to close during this period. This was out of our control and was not a fault with our site or equipment, we did have a member of staff outside the showers to explain the situation and we got them back on as soon as we possibly could.

The toilets were cleaned regularly but with the wet weather the floors never stay the cleanest due to muddy boots etc. This is something that can not be helped.

With the grass we left it slightly longer for this weekend due to the forecast and short grass would just end up getting to wet to quick. We are pleased we did because the ground is looking really good and it worked really well and is being cut this afternoon now the weather is set to improve.

Hope I have addressed all your points in your review. We work extremely hard to keep our campsite tidy and enjoyable for visitors.

Gostou: Absolutely stunning view and wild feel, simple but clean shower/toilet block, plenty of space
Firepits allowed and sold on site

Não gostou: Do feel it’s slightly more pricey, especially compared to some sites that have much more facilities in a proper holiday park, by comparison it is just a field with a toilet block

We have lots to offer on the campsite besides just toilets we have showers, washing up and water points also which are all included in the price which is one of the cheapest in the area.
