Whether you’re holidaying with your family, your significant other or a group of friends (or maybe it’s just you and your four-legged companion), Pasturewood Holidays has a glamping solution for you. This small, rural and blissfully remote site in the splendid Cumbrian countryside sits about 20 minutes’ drive from either Carlisle or Penrith. Owners Richard and Rachel (and their dogs) will give you a warm welcome when you check in, and they’ll direct you to your contemporary luxury pod, which has its own parking space (you won’t have to lug your gear in a wheelbarrow here). They're also on hand to answer any questions you might have on the local area or the site facilities. Need a few extras – such as firepits and charcoal barbecues? Richard and Rachel can supply those, as well as a range of essentials (washing-up liquid, kitchen roll and toilet rolls) and toiletries. For anything else, the nearest shop is in the village of Dalston (10 minutes' drive), which also has a country pub and a fish and chip shop. And just how luxurious are those pods? Well, they have a comfortable (and made-up) double bed, ensuite bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen with ceramic hobs, fridge, kettle and toaster (plus all the utensils and crockery you need to whip up a meal), and a TV. Mind you, chances are you’ll forget all about the telly and instead spend your evenings watching the sunset and the stars in the night sky…

Gostou We had a wonderful two-night stay at the Blossom View pod and cannot recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, everything was spotlessly clean and beautifully presented. The hot tub was a fantastic highlight and perfect for relaxing. Communication with the hosts was incredibly clear and helpful throughout our entire stay. We loved every minute of our time here and will definitely be recommending it to family and friends.

Gostou Had a first class stop really, and would return in the future. Best place we've stopped this year. Pod was very spacious and everything there that we needed , hot tub was an added bonus as well and kids loved it. Site was quiet and brilliant for the kids to run about. The petting area for the animals is class

Gostou A beautiful, tranquil, immaculate site, with easy access to the North Lakes yet far from the madding crowds! The shepherds hut had everything we could ask for and the owners were very pleasant and accommodating. If you need to get away from it all, this is the place to go.

Gostou pod was very pleasant, hot tub was a added bonus after long days walking peaks .

Não gostou me and my partner didn’t think the bed was worth the money we spent to stay there , mattress was not comfy at all you felt like you were sleeping on wood , there was no bench space to actually cook and use the hob so we just ended up eating out every single day/night

Do gerente: Thank you for your feedback, sorry to hear you found the bed uncomfortable. Regarding the bench space, as it is a Glamping pod the kitchen area is of course quite compact but there is a dining table / bench if you needed extra room for preparing food. The layout of the pod can be seen when you book on our selection of photos, I do believe over message prior to your your stay that you were expecting an oven, again there is no where that pictures or is listed that this pod includes one. We do have other pods which do which you would have maybe been better suited too.

Gostou Beautiful and well maintained hut. Rachel was really welcoming and the extra touches like lighting our hot tub so it was ready for us when we came back from a day out were really thoughtful.
I also loved the fact that they welcomed people coming to bottle feed the lambs. A great experience!

Não gostou No dislikes - only one small recommendation of placing a mop and a sweeping brush in with the cleaning materials so we could make sure we could keep the place clean for our stay.

Carlisle Castle is known for holding Mary, Queen of Scots prisoner within its walls. Stroll on the green where she used to take her morning walks in captivity, or check out the fascinating displays at Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life. Bitts Park, on the banks of the River Eden, is a top spot for a picnic among colourful floral displays. The Lake District National Park (half an hour’s drive) has gorgeous landscapes that you can explore while hiking, climbing fells or paddleboarding. To the west of Ullswater is Aira Force Waterfall, which tumbles down moss-covered stones, while the hills around Derwentwater yield spectacular views of the lake and its islands from observation points like Friars Crag. The Solway Coast National Landscape is a nature reserve (40 minutes) stretching along the Solway Firth. Its sand dunes and salt marshes are home to breeding and migrating birdlife, including geese and birds of prey, while at low tide, you might spot the remains of an ancient submerged forest.
