Dalegarth Campsite

Gostou Lovely hosts and location! Nice and secluded with beautiful nature surrounding. Went to sleep listening to the river and woke up to birdsong. A warm pub less than a ten minute walk up the road. Hope to visit again!

Não gostou The trailer with the firewood wasn’t very organized and there was only one (wet) fire-starter left so we struggled to make a fire.

Gostou Lovely campsite with lots of space. Hot showers and clean portaloos. Right next to a river which is fantastic for swimming/paddling in. A short walk to two nice pubs serving excellent food. Very freindly staff providing logs to buy for the fire pits.

Não gostou Showers are far away if you stay in one of the other fields. Would be great if they had another couple in the next field where the toilets are situated.

Gostou Clean and big campsite, worth recommend to others.

Gostou Beautiful peaceful location run by wonderful helpful people full of hints on how to make your stay more in joyable.

Love the idea of the food hut on site with good prices not trying to rip you off, the showers are both hot and powerful with a view of the sounding treeswhile you shower.

There's a river that runs along one side of the site that looks ideal for a dip if the river isn't in spate kids will love it.

Nice and quiet we slept very well on this site.

Gostou Really good campsite, lots to do and see also close to all major walks and wastwater lake, beach is close by 10 mins to Drigg.

Had a fantastic weekend so did the kids and dogs.

Lovely people great site will definatly be going next year again.

Não gostou Portaloo not everyone's cup of tea but all part of the camping experience ( better than a hole in the ground!)

Gostou Dalegarth Campsite, nestled near a wildly flowing mountain river close to Scafell Pike and Wastwater, is a gem for those seeking both adventure and tranquillity. The location is superb, offering excellent access to three charming pubs and nearby waterfalls, perfect for unwinding after a day on the fells. While the meadow can be a touch swampy, this minor inconvenience is easily overshadowed by the site's overall charm. The facilities, including a toilet and shower, are perfectly adequate. As a base for hiking England’s highest summits Dalegarth Campsite is worthy to keep in mind.

I’m sorry you didn’t like my little site.
I know there was an issue with one of the loos that you pointed out to me and I rectified immediately hoping I wouldn’t get a scathing review!
Whilst we are very basic we certainly are not dirty as the adjacent reviews point out. We are labelled as a pop-up site on here so maybe suggest you avoid such sites in the future if you prefer more advanced facilities….

Gostou Everything, quiet, spacious, basic facilities, nestled right on the banks of the river esk with excellent swimming within walking distance, great base for a day or three in the hills.Eskdale valley is a stunning location and you can still find solitude without looking to hard. Beats the tourist traps by miles and well worth the scenic drive in if your coming from the Central lakes.
