Looking for somewhere pretty, comfortable and equipped with plenty of mod cons? Wighill Park Glamping should very much fit the bill. Its well-equipped luxury glamping units are next to a gorgeous ancient woodland on an active West Yorkshire farm called Home Farm. The self-contained glamping units here are made from sustainable wood and fitted with conveniences such as a barbecue and smart TV. If that all sounds mightily convenient, wait until you get a look at the location, too – it's 25 minutes’ drive away from York and under 40 minutes from Leeds and Harrogate. You shouldn’t find yourself short of tourist spots, eateries and country pubs to visit in this area, as the market town of Wetherby is 10 minutes' drive away and the brewery town of Tadcaster 15 minutes’ drive. Meanwhile, the glamping area is part of a property that's still very much a working farm, so you’re welcome to take the children to look at the sheep and cattle grazing in the surrounding fields. The farm is part of Wighill Park, which was once a private cricket pitch for Lord Hawke (a well-known name on the Yorkshire cricket scene). The historic grounds have extensive trails through the woodland – a particular bonus for any guests that have brought their dog along for a holiday here.

Gostou Fantastic stay. Pods are great, good size and have everything you would need.
Outside area is spacious and well kept.

Não gostou Only negative would be the mattress isn't very comfortable but otherwise everything else was perfect!

Gostou I loved the stay here at the nest.
Would come back definitely to a pod.
It was So special to stay here as I proposed and got engaged!

It was clean and well kept. Had good facilities.

Não gostou Had nothing to dislike other than flies but that's expected in the woods!!

Gostou Would highly recommend the nest for a nights stay, stunning decent sized hut with everything done to a high standard and the added privacy of it being set back away from the other pods made the experience.

Gostou Everything we need was in the pod already. It was very convenient. Also we had the hot tub ready when we arrived but didnt get to use it til the nxt day but guess what, the water was still warm it was amazing!

Não gostou We werent prepared that there was no airconditioning/fan. Opening the windows was great its just that there were bugs coming in. The windows could have some screen on it to keep bugs away.

Gostou Very well run, helpful hosts. Site was clean & tidy & obviously well managed.
Barbecue/fire pit was excellent for cooking our meals & toasting our marshmallows before relaxing in the hot tub under the trees. Firewood generously provided free of charge.
Well equipped pod with good hot water supply.
Great location near to the motorway & to local amenities. Walking distance across the fields to an excellent pub for Sunday lunch - The Tickled Trout. Would recommend.

Gostou Had a lovely weekend . POD is fantastic , very comfortable and has everything you need . Hot tub is lovely , easy to use and stayed hot .

Não gostou The only thing I would stay is the velux window needs a blind , I would imagine in the summer it would get light early inside when the sun comes up , so a blind would be helpful .

Gostou It was my birthday weekend and my partner made it special and I loved how much detail they put into it. I loved the BBQ and the pod felt very homely. I loved the hot tub especially making it hot with the log fire, made it feel more worth it when we got in. We loved the sheep being basically in your front garden.

Não gostou The bed was a little uncomfortable and the sky light didnt have a blind so we got woken up when the sun rose. Far too many wasps around.

Gostou Great location for Great Yorkshire Show. Hot tub was a lovely treat at end of day! Peaceful with plenty of space per pod. Logs included in price for hot tub and bbq. BBQ ash cleaned out for us. Pod clean.

Não gostou External wood/decking could perhaps be freshened up, split in sofa bed and loose toilet seat. Lots of wasps but to be expected so near to woodland area.

Keen to use your holiday time to try something new – in a historic setting, no less? Country estate Stockeld Park (15 minutes’ drive), has go-karting and a range of seasonal activities, while Lotherton (25 minutes) runs tractor tours and other activities for the kids. Harewood House (25 minutes), another historic country estate, should be another pleasant outing, with an adventure playground, café, second-hand bookshop and over 100 acres of grounds to its name. There’s also Castle Howard (45 minutes), a famous historic estate with an adventure playground. On a castle tour, you may recognise some of the rooms and grounds from your TV screen. A little further afield, the Studfold Adventure Trail (an hour and five minutes) has a nature trail and family activities like go-karting in gorgeous countryside. There’s plenty to sink your teeth into in York (25 minutes) – literally, if you follow the Chocolate Trail through the city. Historic attractions are plentiful, from the grand York Minster to the National Railway Museum York and the JORVIK Viking Centre.
