This is a wow of a luxurious glamping spot in the peaceful North Yorkshire hamlet of Littlebeck – Alum House Glamping certainly knows how to sort outdoor breaks in style. On this secluded site, each luxury unit is pitched in a peaceful corner of the grounds, and none are overlooked, so your luxury retreat really is totally private… These smart accommodation units all have electricity and are heated by woodburning stoves (with log packs available on site for an extra charge). Linen is provided for the kingsize beds (which have luxury mattresses of course), and there are private kitchen and bathroom facilities for each unit. And while all of this is very handy, it's surely eclipsed by the presence of your very own hot tub… A good soak in the hot tub is an excellent way to start your evening on site, and perhaps after that you'd like to enjoy an outdoor meal or get cosy and look up into the skies to watch the stars coming out. And finally, a couple of house rules: small dogs are allowed (for a small daily charge) but must be kept on a lead at all times as the owners have chickens. Please do not allow them inside the units if they are wet, as they're likely to create a mess if they shake themselves down.

Historic Whitby (15 minutes’ drive) is home to dramatic clifftop abbey ruins, excellent fish and chip shops and loads of indie stores selling jet jewellery – you can also go scavenging on the beach for fossils, or take a boat trip to go whale watching or sea fishing. The dog will be happy scampering over the pet-friendly beach at Robin Hood’s Bay (15 minutes), where there are lots of rock pools to splash around in too. Further inland, Pickering (30 minutes) is the departure point for steam-train rides on the North York Moors Railway. You can also have a Harry Potter moment at Goathland (15 minutes), where the railway station doubled for Hogsmeade Station. In the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, you might like to nose around riverside villages like Glaisdale (25 minutes) and Beck Hole (15 minutes), scale Roseberry Topping (45 minutes) or get on long-distance trails like the Coast to Coast (five minutes to join it at Falling Foss) for spectacular moorland views.

The hot tub was lovely.
The male duck was cute.
It was lovely to hear and be in nature.

Não gostou There was a little bit who was creating disturbance but that comes with it.

Gostou Michelle and glen are fantastic hosts, nothing was to much trouble, breakfast, pizza and jacket potatoes well worth having, very quiet and peaceful, brilliant accommodation and super soft bed, powerful hot shower and not shared only went for the weekend came home super relaxed

Gostou We've stayed at a few Yurts over the years and this one one of the best. The owners are super friendly and can't do enough to help. Highly recommend contacting them directly as they can add those special touches, it was my partners Birthday and they really went the extra mile to make the visit special.
