Got a bike? Get on it and pedal over to Dalesbridge, a cycle-friendly site between the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland. Spacious and family-run, it is within half an hour's drive of all three Yorkshire Three Peaks for hikes up Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent. First things first, though, head to the on-site shop to collect some local information and a map of the local area; many walking and cycling routes begin directly from the site. There is lockable bike storage on site for your valued two-wheeled vehicles, as well as a cycle wash area so you can hose the mud off after long days up hills and down dales. Half an hour’s drive away is the Gisburn Forest, where mountain bikers of all ages, fitness and nerve can pedal a route to suit. The Dales trails and Bowland bike paths aren't the only thing to look forward to, as Dalesbridge is a peaceful family site with spectacular scenery in all directions. There’s ample room, staff who are happy to help, and most importantly for mountain roamers returning with a thirst, a fully licensed bar (open at certain times). There is also a pizza oven and an on-site shop, where you can stop off for coffee, rolls and pastries at the weekend. Based in Austwick, the site is a 10-minute drive from the historic local market town Settle which has shops and supermarkets. The Settle-Carlisle railway is also a short drive away.

Gostou Great location, lovely friendly staff, cabin was really clean, 100% value for money, stunning views, everything you want in a campsite

Não gostou Could do with a lamp or something in the cabin, when my child was trying to go to sleep the rest of us had to sit in the dark 🤣

Não gostou Large party that thought it was acceptable to reserve non electric pitches for others then pitch up with there tent about a foot away from my awning then when the staff did move them only to block any views I had

Gostou Beautiful location in an amazing setting, spacious pitches, great to have a bar on site. All the team were very friendly and helpful.

Não gostou The toilets and showers were in need of some attention both in terms of consistent facilities in them (some have no hanging pegs etc.) and they were also very well used so would have benefitted from more regular cleaning.
Also the lack of a designated Motor Home Service Point with ground level grey water disposal would be useful.

Gostou Great location,friendly owners, good facilities onsite.
Very reasonable price per night and drinks in the bar.
The pizza night was also excellent.

Não gostou Nothing really, if anything a few pot holes need filling in on the track to the pitches.

WE fill the pot holes in the winter. but it does slow traffic down on the part so acts as a good deterrent

Gostou Big area to pitch great view of the hills nice little pub and dog run area

Não gostou Busyness of the road right behind us, the smell of weed constantly, toilets not big enough for site I know there are a few dotted around the site but in the corner near the entrance there isn’t enough toilets nor were they very clean and when people have a shower the water runs under where your sat on the toilet and unsure what it was but best part of the night there was a high pitch beep noise

Gostou Nice site , very busy , rabbits just chilling around the site without a care in the world :)

Had an on site shop , bar , and a pizza place too .

Some good routes in the area for walking / hiking etc .

Não gostou Not the sites fault but next time we would book an adults only site as our first night we were next to some very rude children and parent and ruined the experience a bit , but once they left the next day things were great .

They do allow pit fires but don’t supply them so you’d have to bring your own with you .

We have 6 facilities blocks
1 new, 2 newly refurbished with individual units and people love these>
We have blocks which are all good and work and we are continually improving these.
They are cleaned 5 times a day on weekends and 3 times a day weekdays.
We do regular checks during the day too.

Excellent and fantastic service…

Dalesbridge campsite is just off the main A65 road between Ingleton and Settle. Do not drive into Austwick. If travelling from the Settle direction the site is past the Austwick sign on the lefthand side of the road: turn into the entrance directly before the Dalesbridge sign. If travelling from Ingleton the site is just past the second turning into the village of Austwick; turn right after the crossroads. Satnav: please note that our entrance is directly off the A65: do not turn up Orcaber Lane!

Starting 10 minutes away, the walk to Ingleton Falls is gentle but rewarding, and even though you’re heading deep down instead of up, the caverns and wild rock formations of Whitescar and Ingleborough caves make for unmissable wanders. For walks with wildlife, make the half-hour trip to Malham Cove, where a pair of nesting peregrine falcons can be spotted in the summer months, alongside resident populations of jackdaws and housemartins. You can climb the massive amphitheatre cliffs of the cove, or follow trails up and around taking in the glacial Malham Tarn and Janet’s Foss waterfall. To see some wildlife at closer quarters, the Settle Falconry Centre (five minutes' drive) has daily displays of flying and feeding and if you feel you’d like to soar through the skies, the Ribble Viaduct section of the Settle-Carlisle Railway makes a fair imitation. If all this outdoor, high altitude stuff has made you peckish, head over to the Wensleydale Creamery (40 minutes) to learn how the famed crumbly cheese is made… and then sample some, but of course.
