Gostou Scenery was nice. Pitch was good. Toilet block was slightly dated, but clean.

Não gostou The children's play area was neglected. Needs completely renewed as it's in a dangerous state.
Inside the forest area of the playpark there was pallets with nails sticking out.

Gostou Situation ideal for local area.

The ducks coming to see if there’s any food in a morning around the hard standings I think we counted 40 !! Even with our dog!!

Não gostou Showers terrible water went everywhere never been in a one that spurts water nearly to the door as no curtain though doubt that would help much & the teenagers would probably pull them off. The shower block definitely needs some attention. Having youngsters sitting around outside late in the evening & messing with soap dispensers & the loos doesn’t help either.
Can’t blame the site for the teenagers but they spoil the overall holiday especially when your pitch is next to the amenities!!

Gostou Akebar Park has to be one of our favourite site to visit locally.
Beautiful location lots of walks and lots of places to visit only a short drive away.
The site is and pitches are well kept grass well maintained.
The pub is much improved since our last visit a few years ago (food wise I mean)
we will return to this site many more times I hope.
Great park for the kids

Não gostou Sorry just been honest.
We were on the touring pitch and the lighting was almost none existent for our full stay.
the WiFi worked near the shower block but our motorhome 30ft away got no signal at all and phones no signal or mms, the site is a dead zone for mobiles.
The shower block is not the worst we have used but is in need of a full refit, the showers trickled but nice and hot and cleaned regularly 1 shower and 1 toilet not in use throughout our stay.
the crazy golf was covered on wood Bark would take 15 mins to sweep it, yes its the kids who kick the bark all over it but as I say wouldn't take long to keep tidy with a leaf blower or brush.
On our stay kids were hanging around the toilet block on a due poor lighting around the touring pitch, Older people fret about things like this.
kids in and out of the shower block with bikes leaving tyre marks on the floor.
You have to feel for the staff some feral unsupervised kids.
Finally some guests should never own a caravan or motorhome if they cant keep the shower blocks tidy, one night I went to the loo 1st toilet full of poo 2nd full of toilet paper 3rd ok.
So I cleaned them 11pm some people are just animals. not the staffs fault.

Gostou We just returned from a fantastic week at Akebar park and I can't recommend it enough for families looking for a classic camping adventure with all the right amenities. This place truly understands what it takes to keep both kids and adults happy.
​From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The pitches are generously sized, giving us plenty of space to set up our tent without feeling like we were on top of our neighbours. The layout of the site is well-thought-out, with separate areas for families and those seeking a quieter stay, which is a big plus. We were also delighted to find that the campsite is dog-friendly, so our four-legged family member could join in on the fun.
​What really sets Akebar apart is the incredible range of facilities. The wash blocks were spotless, with a dedicated family bathroom that made getting the little ones ready a breeze. The on-site shop was a lifesaver, stocking everything from forgotten essentials to fresh local produce and delicious ice cream.

Gostou Facilities were ideal. The dog park was excellent as it was a good safe area for the dogs and grand children to run about with them

Gostou Pretty site and well maintained. Had a little stream running through it and some friendly ducks. Lovely pub on the site doing amazing food. Has a good little shop for essentials. The reception staff were really helpful when we asked to change one of our dates. the toilets and showers were lovely and clean. Has a golf course and spa too although we didn't use them. The guest wifi was really good.

Gostou The water tap was in a good location and the lodge/ static area is beautiful. Thats it.

Não gostou In the three weeks we spent exploring Yorkshire and Northumberland this was by far the worst site we visited. Despite being one of the most expensive. The toilet and shower block was really dirty and clearly wasn't cleaned/maintained often. There was water leaking from the urinal, bits of toilet roll, mud etc all over the floor and the toilets were disgusting. They were in exactly the same state when we left as they were when we arrived. The play park was full of rubbish (sweet packets and bottles), the ground surrounding much of the equipment was covered in nettles and some of the equipment was broken. A minor issue but, despite being gravel, the pitch was really uneven, our ramps could not get us close to level. We booked two nights but only stayed one. We decided to go use a local pub stop instead.

Gostou Fabulous site with spacious pitches. Staff are fantastic, we were helped with an electric problem on my caravan on our arrival. Amenities block was cleaned regularly. As well as the play park, there's free crazy golf and bowls by the pub plus tabltennis tables (bats and balls have to be purchased for that. The dog was catered for too, it's dog friendly, including the pub restaurant and there's a big, secure field for off-lead exercise. My grandkids cried when we had to leave.

Não gostou There are a lot of nettles in and around the play equipment that needs dealing with. A few children were stung by them

Gostou Established campsite with lots of trees. Very well kept with all the right amenities not to far away. We laughed as I'd asked for a "quiet spot" and we found ourselves next to the church which was very pretty.

Não gostou Along a row of many sinks the soap was at the furthest point..a small point I know.
