Have you ever been to the Norfolk coast? Pine-ing to return or to see it for the first time? Come and stay at Pine Cones Caravan and Camping, near King's Lynn inland and Heacham and Hunstanton on the coastline – this is such a royally good region that King Charles and his cohorts have a pad at Sandringham just a mile away. If the king were camping, it's a fairly safe bet he would like the up to date and excellently kept amenities at Pine Cones too: 16 warm luxury bathrooms, all with their own shower, toilets, basin and storage racks; a roomy, indoors washing-up area with several sinks and plenty of drainer space; and a washing machine and dryer in a separate room to sort out the laundry. Once the essentials are sorted, send the kids off to the adventure playground to try out the treehouse, rope ladders and high level walkway, and settle down in the picnic area with coffee and eats… there's a coffee machine on site and the well-stocked shop sells a good selection of items including bread, milk, and fresh and frozen food. A selection of outdoor gym equipment is also available for the energetic holidaymaker. Off site, Pine Cones is about a mile from the nearest pub the Feathers, or trot off to award-winning the Coach and Horses. Both are in nearby Dersingham village, where there's also a supermarket, takeaway and coffee shop dishing up homemade cakes daily.

Gostou Facilities were excellent, including a bar, cafe, restaurant, washing up area, individual toilet/shower rooms, a small play area, electric car charging and lovely walks from site.

Não gostou If I had to be picky, the toilets smelled at times but really they were much nicer than most.

Great place been plenty of times now

Gostou Lovely site well located. Staff helpful when needed.

Não gostou No separate toilets, they were in the same cubicle as showers and sinks,so when they were busy on morning and night you had to queue. Plenty of them as 2 blocks. Found the bar opening times odd. Shut at 3pm just when people were coming back on site from visiting seaside resort's so could of done with a drink. Saw lots go over to see if it was open. Reopened some days but closed all day 2 out of7.

Clean site level pitches and good size…

Gostou The facilities were brilliant. Individual toilet and shower, very clean. Lovely bar and pizza on site. Site was really clean, staff drove around making sure the site was good. The pitches were a great size. Lots of room, lovely picnic area on the pitch we had. Fully serviced, not too close to each other.
Lively area to go and walk your dog through the kissing gate.
WiFi on site is by far the best we’ve had. We bring our own big didn’t work and this was better and free. Nice touch!!

Não gostou Not really a dislike, as didn’t bother us too much but is close to a main road so a lot of road noise. Didn’t put us off but just if you didn’t want that.

An excellent balance of comfort, convenience, enjoyment.

Gostou I recently stayed at Pinecones Camping Site and was thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. The comfort pitches were outstanding—spacious, well-maintained, and equipped with all the amenities needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The site is also exceptionally dog-friendly, with a range of scenic walking routes directly accessible from the grounds. These walks were ideal for our dogs, offering both variety and tranquillity, and allowed us to fully appreciate the natural beauty of the area.

The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. From check-in to departure, their professionalism and willingness to assist made a real difference and contributed greatly to the relaxed atmosphere of the site.

Não gostou Although the presence of distant road activity is noticeable at times, it does not dominate the soundscape, and most visitors find it to be a minor background element rather than a disturbance.

Gostou Quiet site, small amount of road noise during peak times, close to interesting places, and rural surroundings were great. Shower & toilet block well equipped and very clean.

Não gostou Some irresponsible dog owners onsite, walking their dogs early morning 645am allowing them to misbehave, barking for some time.

Atrações locais

Beaches, historic houses, museums and festivals, tiny villages, market towns and fab family days out are all easily accessible from Pine Cones Caravan and Camping – after a day at Sandringham, but of course, to wave at the king first... Within a couple of miles, the deer safaris, farming activities and walking trails of Snettisham Deer Park and the sights and smells of Norfolk Lavender are both good options for a day out; Snettisham has an RSPB reserve too for those itching to twitch. But as you're probably in west/north Norfolk for the beaches, head to Heacham, Holkham and Hunstanton first, the closest sands to Pine Cones, and then take a trip to Brancaster 11 miles away; the family-friendly and very scenic sands of Sheringham, Cromer and Mundsley are a little further along the coast. (Also, the final scenes of Shakespeare in Love were filmed at Holkham, and all the beaches in these parts are fairly filmworthy, so bring your camera.) Other excellent options for days out include village hopping and shopping among the scenic sights of Dersingham, Holt, Fakenham, Aylsham and Burnham Market to pick up some local produce, or going along to one of Norfolk's festivals or events: there's usually something going on throughout the year. Pine Cones is also on the edge the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – bring walking boots, crabbing nets and plenty of room for picnics.
