Gostou Throughly enjoyed, Gary and his partner were lovely! Left us to it but made sure the toilet and shower were stocked and clean.

Plenty of space, feels like your wild camping but with the luxury of your car being close, running hot water and a proper toilet.

Land was spacious and a great place for fire and a gathering with friends.

Signal was patchy depends who you were with and some bits had stronger connect than other but that adds to the experience.

Gostou This is such an awesome site! We were there early September mid week and had the place to ourselves. We found a lovely clearing in the trees to set up our tentbox. Campfire & chill. The owner Gary is lovely. We were fascinated about his career as a stone mason. Wood for the fire was free and Gary was kind enough to cut this up for us. Toilets and Showers were immaculate. Overall a very clever site giving you a genuine feel of being off grid, we shall be back, and soon we hope. Rob & Marie x

Gostou This is a quirky site, in a nice way, pitches set amongst the trees, couple of places for a campervan too.

Perfect as a stop off as it wasn't far from M5 M50 junction ready to head into Wales.

Gostou Absolute gem of a campsite. So glad we found this place. Friendly welcome and also a lovely little cat who enjoyed our company quite a lot. If you like a woodland, wild camping setting but want the luxury of a hot shower, a toilet and a washing up area then this is the place to go. Loads of walking in and around the area too.

Owners very accommodating, friendly and laid back.

Clean and warm toilets and shower facility.
Plenty of fallen wood for campfires.

Não gostou Its hard to avoid the drone of the motorway nearby but the many trees did a good job of absorbing the sound.

Gostou Rockridge is a proper back-to-basics site, in which the location owner will greet you with a warm welcome and shortly after inform you that you are free to set up camp on any part of the site that takes your fancy.

Once we informed Gary of the spot we had chosen he inspected the area and then told us he'd cut down some firewood for us, felling an ash tree nearby which provided us with ample firewood for our 2 night stay.

The facilities at the location are just what you need and more. I've never visited a campsite that had such a clean separate toilet and shower rooms properly insulated and protected from the outside, the materials for the toilet were also well stocked.

The campsite itself has a truly rustic feel that really gives one the sense you look for when wild camping, but with the added bonus of having a working toilet nearby. We pitched up in a grove of trees on the hillside and we never felt like we were in the nearby vicinity of any other campers.

Also, due to the slope of the hill on one side, the campsite is sheltered from the wind and the noise of the M5. During quiet moments it's possible to hear a quiet distant hum of the motorway but the rustling of the trees provides a much more appealing distraction

Não gostou It's hard to find a criticism of the site. The only thing I could list would be a minor gripe that wasn't the fault of the site, but a fact of being in nature:

During our stay we ended up cooking quite late into the night and we were harassed by some hornets attracted by our bright headlamps. Fortunately no-one was stung. I mentioned this to the campsite owner Gary who said he would look into the situation and see what he could do. We did some research of our own and it seems that they were european hornets which are fairly typical of the area.

Cutting that ash tree for your firewood was no trouble at all I’m pleased it kept you going for the stay!

I appreciate you mentioning the hornets too. They’re part of being out in nature, but I’ll keep an eye on things and see what I can do to make sure they don’t cause too much bother for future campers.

Also, thanks for the heads up about the entrance sign. I can see how that might’ve been confusing on arrival, so I’ll get onto making that clearer.

Gostou The welcome from Gary and his partner (sorry I didn’t cath your name) was fabulous.

The setting is beautiful, it’s a few acres of gentle hill with natural clearings big enough to pitch a tent throughout the site and the lower levels are perfect for vans.

The amenities are basic, but perfectly formed, you can grab a shower, go to the loo, and get fresh water which is just what we wanted for our wild camping experience.

Venturing out and about, the land is surrounded by interesting walks, we chose to walk up to the church aprox 1mile walk, it was perfectly tranquil, and just what you want from an off grid experience.

Não gostou None - I’ve marked down wifi on my score, this is not a negative, there is no access to wifi, and nor should there be! Enjoy nature my friends :-)
