Set up in a remote spot with birdsong and farm animals as your morning soundtrack… Park Hill Farm is a scenic site on a dog-friendly working farm 10 minutes’ drive from Market Drayton, in north Shropshire. And in case you’re wondering just how scenic the location is… well, it overlooks the Cheshire Plains, Wrekin and the Welsh hills, as well as sitting alongside a woodland that is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The site is set up for wild camping – meaning back-to-basics (and eco-friendly) facilities including composting toilets that use sawdust and a convenient washing-up station, but no electricity or showers. There’s no WiFi, either, so instead of scrolling on their phones, children can let off steam in the fresh air and get involved in meeting the animals with the farmer (new friends may include pigs, cows and cats). Sourcing supplies for a gas barbecue is simple, since the site sells free-range eggs from its happy hens, along with its own beef burgers, pork sausages and bacon, plus a handful of pre-packaged essentials like bread, milk, breakfast cereals and ice creams. As the site is a 'leave no trace' place, they do ask that you take all of your rubbish home. If you’re in need of any extras, the village of Loggerheads (10 minutes’ drive along the A53) has a couple of small shops, as well as a pub and an Indian restaurant. If you want to leave the car behind, Loggerheads can be reached with a splendid 15-minute walk through the country. (This is just one of several paths you can take from the site through the local woodlands and farmlands. The farm shop has maps you can borrow.)

Gostou The location was perfect
The facilities were clean and tidy
Pat was lovely when I arrived despite forgetting to mention I had a couple hounds in town
The comms were great prior to the visit
The dog walking was enough to tire out a 3 year old border collie
Pub within 15 minutes walk was lively with a good selection of beers
Decent shop and a chippy too all in walking distance

Gostou The view, the peace & the host. Been here before, will definitely be going back again. Also love the fact we don't have to race off early if the space is available. Lovely woods to walk through & the pub is through there too. The farm produces the best steaks ever!

Gostou Loved everything! Perfect campsite if looking for a quiet safe relaxing time in the country. Basic facilities kept super clean and really helpful friendly owners. Cute animals for my friends young children to see and a nice stroll to the local village with nice views. Would highly recommend and will be back!
