Gostou This is a stunning site. Remote and peaceful setting and even though pitches are quite close together and most of them were booked up it never felt crowded. The showers are incredible! Best I've ever found on a campsite! The micro shop was a lovely touch and well stocked. Would definitely recommend.

Gostou O Toilets and showers excellent - very clean and showers were very powerful. Peaceful site though I’m not sure this would be the case if it was full. Nicely landscaped tent pitches. Good dog walk. Pretty at night with strings of lights.
O Owners very responsive to texts - they delivered a hose pipe within minutes so that we could fill our onboard water tank. I mentioned I had trouble closing the door to the ladies and the next time I used the facilities it had been fixed.
O The walk to Houghton across the fields took us an hour (our sense of direction isn’t the best even with instructions 😘) The Old Black Horse serves lovey food at reasonable prices, staff are very friendly and dogs are welcome in the Snug. A lovely man in St Catherine’s Church let us use their loo and was very happy to share the history of the 800 year old church with us. We chose to stick to the main road (A47) on the way back (there is a good footpath to Galsby Lane) which was a lot quicker.

O Pitches are very narrow and not all have a large enough grassed area to put up an awning. The gravel on most pitches is enclosed in wooden planks which are higher than the grass which can make the transition from the van to the grass quite tricky.
O There was an issue with wasps during our stay which Glenn was aware of and he indicated that it may be because of the bins. Luckily we have bug blinds on the windows so we were able to open the windows to keep the van cool. Had we not had these it would have been a nightmare!The bins are at the side of the amenities hut and you have to walk past them to get to the ladies toilet. Maybe moving the bins to the entrance/exit which is common practise at a lot of the sites we visit would be better.

Não gostou One of the toilet/shower locks was jammed completely - so everyone was using the other toilet/shower cubicle. That shower in there clearly had a blocked drain which was leading to flooding of the cubicle with every use - not nice for the next person. It was like that throughout our stay.
No ventilation in the toilet/shower cubicles = very hot little rooms!
This is a really small point and perhaps no one else will think this or feed back but - the ladies toilet is around the back and then up the stairs of the shower/toilet cubicles and the men's toilet. Personal preference would be that the ladies toilet was the one easiest to get to - otherwise we are the ones walking around the back when it's dark.
Despite the site asking for no music from people staying, there was at times music playing quite loudly from other pitches - suppose you can get that anywhere and isn't the fault of the site itself.
Some of the pitches had more grass area than others and some were pretty uneven. We got our awning out but had no room to spare either side.
Overall - nice campsite - the owners are clearly trying hard. Would we come back? Possibly not, given how much choice there is around.

Gostou Well organised small site. Welcome text sent with important information included. Clean toilet and excellent showers. Micro shop was a nice touch.

Gostou It was very welcoming, we had a message from Saffron and Glenn with all the instructions before arrival with all our check in instructions. Site is very pretty, especially at night with fairy lights lining the path from the road to the pitches. Toilets and showers were clean and easily accessible. They have a new on-site shop which is really cute. Will return with our children.

Gostou Location was excellent, toilet and shower facilities were excellent.

Não gostou Had a problem with the 6amp electric hook up which kept tripping out, had to put the fridge on gas.
Owner said that they would look into it so hopefully not a problem anymore

Gostou Very peaceful and beautiful setting. Simple but excellent toilet, washing up and shower facilities. The shower was very powerful and hot. Warm communication from owners.

Gostou Remote, toilets and showers are clean, electrics at pitch.

Não gostou Pitches are very narrow and really there's no way to have a awning. Pitches are sloping although the do offer ramps.
