Gostou Nice setting, clean facilities.

Não gostou If you wanted to fish in the small lake you do have to pay,
You can have a fire pit but you have to pay.
You can use the hairdryers provided but you have to pay.
Mobile network coverage is very poor, thankfully they have good onsite WiFi… but you to pay.
It’s a cattle farm and the adjacent fields have just been sprayed days prior to our arrival, combined with the dry July weather made it into a fly infested site.

Do gerente: Well, what can I say... Chris, before you left I explained to you that we had an issue with the flies that had occurred in the past week as a result of the extremely unprecedented high temperatures (on Saturday reaching as high as 36 degrees) and lack of rain. As you will have seen when booking (it is stated on the website that we are a working farm) we are in the country and as such have other working farms around us, one of which had unfortunately sprayed a field opposite the campsite which had significantly escalated the issue with the flies (as explained to you when we spoke), this is out of our control and is not the norm for us, as can be seen from all of our previous reviews.

I work very hard to maintain a good campsite and environment for people to enjoy when they come to visit (which again can be seen from our reviews). With regards to your points regarding our facilities (WiFi, fishing, fire pits & hairdryers); we clearly state that charges may apply for additional services offered (this is not uncommon and we like to think that our charges are very reasonable), may I point out that the only service you appeared to use was the WiFi, at no point did you enquire about the fishing etc so I am unsure why you feel the need to comment on these.

A final point to note - you gave us a mark for 'child friendliness', we are an adult only site so child friendliness is irrelevant.

I am saddened by the use of your words and descriptions of our campsite, a campsite that is enjoyed by many.

Do gerente: Thank you for you review sorry you thought there were too many rules I assume possibly it was due to the fishing rules and that you were unable to fish but I am sorry there does have to be rules around this.

Gostou Beautiful site with great views. Super fully enclosed dog exercise area - Jack loved being able to chase his ball and have a good run off lead. Security gates to the site give an air of feeling safe. Did not use the toilets/ shower facility but had a look round and very impressed with the facility and cleanliness. We would definately stay here again if in the area. Wi-Fi was available at a charge but very reasonable.

Gostou Probably the cleanest tidiest site we’ve ever stayed on ,fantastic chill out , owner Pip was brilliant , nothing was too much trouble from arrival to departure ,stayed for 3 nights over bank holiday

Gostou The site is spotlessly clean, with spacious pitches overlooking the lake. Pip, the owner and site manager is very friendly and helpful, and provided local information which enabled us to get a very reasonably priced taxi home from the local pub, to which we had walked (4km walk). A very relaxing stay, with superb facilities by way of the shower and toilet block, as well as a very reliable electric, water and waste supply. This site is within easy reach of Monmouth and Abergavenny, as well as Tintern Abbey, all worthy a visit, so you are spoilt for choice if you want to go out, or else you can spend your days relaxing in the sunshine looking over the lake.

Não gostou It's sited on a working farm, so if you are expecting absolute tranquility, be aware that there will therefore be occasional farm traffic noise. Not a complaint or dislike, but worth informing others, to manage expectations!|This may not be an issue for those sited further away from the farm, as it's a big site, but it's a small price to pay if you want to be located near to the showers and loos.

Gostou The setting is beautiful, site immaculate, clean neat, quiet.
Dog field was greatly enjoyed for all its new varied smells, as was the fishing lake with its wild life.
I needed to use my scooter larger wheeled! to get about but no problem.

Não gostou Not a dislike, as paid for WiFi which enabled us to watch tv on laptop, as no phone signal at all which was quite pleasant for a few days

Gostou Fabulous scenery, lovely site. Facilities were spotlessly clean. Secure site, quiet, peaceful, ideal to get away from the hustle and bustle. No children was a plus for us!

Não gostou Nothing to dislike! Access roads can be a little narrow in places but the local motorists are courteous. We did have a large twin axle outfit though.
