The Buzzards

The Buzzards is a deliciously spacious and simple rural site with the pleasures of the peaceful Herefordshire countryside surrounding the site. A 35-minute drive from the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and 50 minutes from the Brecon Beacons National Park, you’ll be able to pack your time full here, whether that’s with walking trails, National Trust sites or cathedral cities. The local area is packed with its own treats, from local antiques and craft centres to fishing pools, golf courses, gardens, leisure centres and swimming pools. The Black and White Trail runs through Kingsland five minutes’ drive away, a route with old-style timber-framed buildings along the way, as well as well-positioned pubs, restaurants, tearooms and cafés serving top-notch country food. Facilities on site are comfy and include one hot shower fed by the house’s oil-fired Rayburn, a sink with cold water and a composting toilet. There are several drinking water taps around the site and a separate area for guests to get a small campfire on the go (handily, there’s wood available to buy on site too). Those of you who have brought along a dog (well-behaved canines are permitted on a lead at all times) will be able to exercise them in the lane alongside the site (this isn’t permitted on the grounds).
