Once you’re all pitched up, you can head straight in for a pint or a wine – this park is rather handily tagged onto a cosy pub. The Hunters Inn, on the edge of Longdon village, is a handy four miles from the historic town of Tewkesbury around half an hour’s drive from Cheltenham, and also within easy reach of several of the area’s most famed historic attractions, including Tewkesbury Abbey, Gloucester Cathedral and Hartlebury Castle. The Malvern Hills are also a cinch to get to for walks and big bike rides, and the water meadow at Severn Ham, just outside Tewkesbury, is smashing for a bit of wildlife spotting and birdwatching. When you’re done with days of Worcestershire sightseeing, return back to base for a barbecue. However, if you’d rather have someone else do the cooking, then the pub serves some pretty great locally sourced food instead. There’s a nice sprinkling of entertainment here too: if you’re there for the pub’s monthly quiz, you can exercise some brain cells for a crack at winning the Hunters’ pub quiz crown.

Gostou Hard standing pitches were spacious and close to the toilets and pub. And a really nice little campsite.

Não gostou Showers weren’t great and in need of a bit of attention but did the job!

Gostou Got a good welcome and check in was easy and quick. Level pitches and lovely pub. Nice and quiet through the night and handy for surrounding towns and attractions etc.. Electric is via prepaying, £3 and £5 options available, we had £5 and it ran out on the last night, we did use the electric heater a fair bit so not that surprised. It is a good base for exploring the area and I hope the owners can continue to update and improve the site.

Não gostou The new amenities block is due to open shortly, good job it is needed as the old block is clapped out. That said the water was hot but on every other metric it is past its sell buy date, useable but not a pleasant experience. Drives potholed and some hardcore around the gate would perhaps avoid having to stand in a puddle to unlock the gate, (to be fair there had been a lot of rain maybe OK in lighter rain times but an easy improvement).

Gostou Great hard standing pitches close to the pub. Pub has good food and a great atmosphere. Recommended.

Não gostou The electric outlet was a long way from the pitch. We have a very long lead and needed all of it!
The toilets are not great but it’s clear new ones are being built. However the hot water tap in the gents got stuck on and wouldn’t go off. Tried to ring the contact number and got no response. Had to borrow tools from other campers and sort it ourselves.
Once the new toilets are open this won’t be an issue.

Gostou Friendly service, and there's a pub on site.

Não gostou The place is not far from the road, there's a small park, and there's only two swings outside for play. The toilets and showers are unheated and need renovation. The price is a bit high considering the quality, as you have to pay extra for electricity.

Gostou Friendly staff, good pub with amazing food. Quiet site. Toilet/shower/washing up n recycling bins all adequate. New toilet block being constructed. Electric hook up is on a meter but its cheap. Free WiFi available.

Gostou Pub was excellent, fabulous Sunday lunch and a great pub meal!

Não gostou Camping facilities are poor, toilets, sinks n Showers were in a very poor state and were not acceptable when paying a good price for a hard standing!
Also the smell from the sewage treatment machinery was unacceptable.

Gostou Pub location and nice and quiet site.
Food was exceptional on the evening menu. Thoroughly recommend dining if you stay.

Over in Tewkesbury, begin with an amble alongside the River Severn or opt for a boat trip along the Avon; then head to the town’s most famed landmark, the 900-year-old Tewkesbury Abbey, and have yourself a heritage wander around its walking trails. The Pepperpot in Upton is also a topping option as a historic highlight, as are Hartlebury Castle and the cathedrals at Worcester and Gloucester, all within easy driving distance. The area plays host to lots of festivals and events throughout the year too; if you’re in the area in July, make sure you check out Tewkesbury’s famed Medieval Festival, where thousands from all over get together for Europe’s biggest annual medieval reenactment: let the merriment commence and the mead flow forth. Elsewhere, this top Worcestershire spot is a most handy locale for outdoorsy and active adventures: there’s a golf course in Tewkesbury and several horse riding schools are in the area too, plus walking and cycling are popular around the Malvern Hills National Landscape, a short drive away. Severn Ham is also a splendid place for a walk and a bit of wildlife watching: be sure to take a pair of binoculars or even just your camera phone, because you’ll likely want to snap all the critters and birdlife you’ll find around this wild water meadow.
