Been a couple of times really like the site

I’ve stayed on hundreds of sites and this site is up there with one of the best, it has everything you need quiet location on the river, massive pitches, room for children and dogs to play, toilets are new clean and tidy. staff where very friendly

Nothing!

Lovely clean shower unit. Had a nice refreshing hot shower while we stayed. Owner was very friendly and helpful as I was on my own with my daughter and didn’t have the right electric hook up and he helped us get the electric on. Love the little bar. Nice pint at cheap prices. Will definitely stay again

Proximity to York

Too out of the way. Long bumpy road in to the Park which tested my car and caravan to its limit. Described as a "working farm", we saw no evidence of this. No one in reception at any time. A warden did appear just after we arrived and directed us on to a pitch then disappeared.

Amazing campsite, the field we stayed on was quiet and rite next to the park so the kids where happy. The toilets and showers are clean and tidy and everything was brilliant.

Not assigned pitches so when we booked 3 pitches there was no guarantee they where next to each other. Luckily we managed to find an empty area out of the way.

Only 2 ladies toilets, and 1 hand washing sink (1 sink in cubicle which was ocupied a lot) in my opinion the toilet block wasnt checked regular enough...hand towel bin over flowing, floors very wet off people showing and seemed to stay wet all day.

It was very dry weather when we stayed, so no BBQs or fire of any kind allowed. Understandable. However an email could have been sent out to inform us of this, and we would have brought our Gas stove, as we had no other way of cooking our food!!

Was not as advertised the clubhouse was closed ALL weekend so had to get a taxi elsewhere also we took bbq for tea and a fire pit we weren’t allowed to use either apparently there’s a ban it did say disposable bbqs on the banner so the guy in charge went overboard and banned all bbqs totally so had to find food from somewhere else as there’s nothing on or near site,we could understand with the weather but we should have had an email or some communication beforehand so we didn’t spend money on bbq food that had to go in the bin as there’s no ice pack freezer to keep the food cold. The toilet block was near the field which was good also the sink for washing pots but the toilets were constantly in use as there were only 2 in toilets in each male and female and 2 showers in each they weren’t cleaned enough so the hand towel bin was constantly overflowing the floor was horrendously filthy I don’t know if it had anything to do with the owners being away on holiday but if your running a business it should be maintained in your absence the only person we saw was the FIRE warden!! Who was very patronising to say the least!!

Location

No check in anyone could have walked on and camped. Toilets were filthy. Said on pitch up BBQs and fires allowed but when we were lighting our bbq a man came to us and said there were no BBQs or fires allowed so had to spend money on a taxi to go and get something to eat . The clubhouse didn't open all weekend but on the website said it was open fridays and Saturdays. We will not be returning again ,alot of false advertising . They take your money and don't care about your stay absolute disgrace.

Good location. Good helpfull staff. Nice small club on site.

Toilet / shower block could do with some maintenance and a good clean.
